Do not see why the PS3 is not an option even if you do not own a console you should still add an option for those of us who do have that console otherwise that seems a tad unfair.
Also PS3 when it comes out but I will also wanna try out the PC version as well.

Neither. Ps3.
I don't own a PS3, please don't turn this into a console battle
Wasn't trying to. The game is coming out on 3 systems (4 is you count mac), and you only included 2 of them. I simply stated which console I was buying the game on. Didn't realize you didn't have one :p

Just buy it on what you whichever your friends are playing it on
He included 2 because he got system and is asking for advice on which system he should get it for.

OT: Get it for PC. PC just works so much better, you get frequent updates, bugs get fixed really fast, the physics engine is way better on PC than consoles. Yeah, only "con" is that you have to use a desk.

Decide for yourself, OP. [http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/]

But, if at all possible, PC.
My only issue with that service is the blatant advertising. It is pretty cool though.

It once told me I didn't meet recommended spec with my OC'd Q9550 on dirt 2 even though the base clock is still higher than some in the i7 range.
Just take the recommendations with a grain of salt.

Honestly I'm a pc gamer and I will go on and advice you to get it on xbox

Your PC is not suited for gaming (GPU is weak - could pull about 30 fps on high in L4D) so it might not look great. But again it's source game so it might look good, but if I were you I would not take the chance.

Also don't buy PS3, as far as I heard it integrates with your PSN account.

Edit: jeez people KB/mouse discussion on Portal 2? This is puzzle game not freaking counter strike

PC. You can always upgrade your PC and continue being able to play the game. Once you replace your 360 with the next-gen Xbox system, you probably won't be able to play your old games.

Plus, Valve hates the Xbox 360 platform now. They only develop for it at all because it's a big market and is piss-easy to port to. You'll be lucky if they even bother to patch out game-breaking bugs if there happen to be any.

Well, uh... I'm getting for the PC. I prefer a mouse and keyboard when it comes to first person games.

But I promise not to hate you if you get it for Xbox.

PC specs:
Dell Studio XPS 8000
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
64-bit OS
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
If those are your PC specs then you shouldnt worry about it not looking great, it will at least play.

I would go for the Steam version, as it will be cheaper, with the downside of the download time.
upside is preload, my guess is the preload will start on the 15

For the free PC version you need to link your PSN and Steam accounts. I'm sure there are ways to get around that sort of thing, but it's not as simple as just giving it to someone else.

Your saying it'll look better on an Xbox 360 than PC? Usually it its the other way around. I don't believe you. PC because controlling on a mouse is much easier than on a Xbox 360 controller.

You have a fully functional computer, and you wanna buy a first person shooter that requires precision and finesse.

... What's the question? There is only one reasonable option.

ps3 and you will get the PC version for free.
I remember hearing about that. Is that still on?
If that's the case I'll get the ps3 version but I'll probably just play it on the pc anyway and lend out the ps3 copy.

Honestly, that's the only way I'll get the ps3 version. After hearing them complain for years about how hard it is to make games for the ps3, I'm still not convinced the ps3 version won't be a complete mess.
Gabe Newell actually did turn around and end up praising PS3 and saying Xbox Live is a trainwreck....

With those PC specs the game will play, not necessarily on high graphic settings but it will definitely play. So I would get the PC version.

Edit: You also could get the PS3 version, make a PSN account, link your steam account to that PSN account, get the free copy of the PC version, and then give the PS3 version to a friend.

I bet the PC version will be better, but I don't have a gaming PC, so Xbox for me.
