Not only that, but it was hand drawn. Instant vote from me, right there.

Now, nobody mention PPGZ.
MLP had an episode entirely dedicated to Indiana Jones.

I grew up watching the original MLP cartoon, and I really really enjoyed it. I still own one of the films on VHS. So I would have to go with the original MLP... not whatever this new thing is that no I haven't watched.

But as you are only including the new MLP, then my answer is PPG. Powerpuff Girls was awesome too, unfortunately I found it around the time I had decided cartoons weren't cool anymore.

The Powerpuff Girls was one of my favorite shows on cartoon network growing up. I always assumed it was for girls so it felt like a guilty pleasure for me. It perfectly blended comedy, creativity, and surprising levels of violence into a really fun show. My biggest complaint was that it had the most overused villain ever.

I've watched one and a half episodes of MLP and that is enough.

Powerpuff Girls. They're the definition of awesomeness. "One who has not witnessed the Powerpuff Girls, knows not coolness" has been my life motto.

Going with PPG because it was part of my childhood nostalgia and while I did also grow up with the old MLP and watched some of the new the current show just doesn't hold up in my eyes even with the fandom tacking that show onto everything else old and nostalgic as if they were making it better by replacing what was original and good.

Powderpuff Girls.

Watch the episode "Meet the beat-all" and then tell that is not the cartoon holy grail.

Neither, sure they had some common grounds but the shows itself were competely different from one another (one being about superheroes and girl power sort of show and the other a strong focus about friendship and talking ponies).
It would be like saying which is better, Dragonball Z or Gundam Wing since they were both in the first waves of anime for Tooami to have and were a huge hit.

They're both quite horrible but if I had to chose for the least painful to watch i'd have to say Powerpuff girls, I guess it's because the first time i saw it i was a kid, which made the experience less horrible.

Gotta go with PowerPuff Girls. Hands down the better show in my opinion. And the villains were all awesome, especially Mojo Jojo. Also, PPG never had the issue of an obnoxious fanbase like MLP has with the hole Brony problem. So many bronies bringing up ponies for no reason in YouTube comments or wasting time sitting in the TF2 spawn room yiffing.

Well I found MLP to be a tired and predictable show (it was mildly humorous at best).

Powerpuff girls ran my childhood (along with Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, and various other Cartoon Network shows). Now granted, that could easily be nostalgia talking however so maybe the PPG is just as bad as MLP and I just don't realize it.
I actually went back and watched a few episodes of PPG as an adult not too long ago. It certainly holds up even today. You can tell that a lot of the humor that you missed as a kid was added to appeal to the parents that might be watching it with their kids, kinda like how SpongeBob does but more subtle.

The Powerpuff Girls.
ibwas part of the genuine target audience when it first aired so I really enjoyed it.
I think I'm too old to get the real appeal of MLP.

I'm going to go with Powerpuff Girls.

Even though I never watched it all that often, I sincerely enjoyed it when I did.

You can argue all you like that Friendship is Magic can be enjoyed by any demo, but the fact remains (and very obviously so) that it's a show made for girls. I've only seen one episode myself, and while it wasn't necessarily bad in any sense... it didn't have much pull to it.

PPG deliberately attempts to appeal to a wide range of people, and I feel like it delivered in that respect. MLP was just a very, very strange accident.

PPG.

I watched two episodes of MLP and I found it incredibly boring, overly saccharine and the conflict resolution never amounted to anything more than making up and being friends.

At least in PPG they kicked the crap out of the bad guys.

Ah bollocks, I was going to mention that.

For the script to be peppered with Beatles puns AND the episode being a parody of the Beatles and Yoko Ono was...magnificent.

well both shows are good, have great characters, well thought out villains and morals. But well, one of them really is 20 percent cooler.

Of the child-aimed TV shows that ended up gathering a large adolescent fanbase due to their sheer high quality, the main two are MLP and Powerpuff girls.

Even though im a huge brony fan, i'd say PPG too. And it's not only nostalgia speaking there, because i rewatch'd them not to long ago and it's still a blast.

Though i'd say the target audience isn't the same :)

Edit: yay, vote #100!
