Powerpuff Girls all the way. They were the ones that made cute and cuddly badass. It was also a blast to see each episode and how the girls, as well as villains, never held back their fighting, making each fight awesome and gaining a lot of praises for the girls as super heroes.

I never watched My Little Pony but I'm a big fan of the Powerpuff Girls. Him is the best villain ever.

Any show with Tara Strong doing voice work rocks, in my opinion.

I never really enjoyed Powerpuff Girls, it was just something to fill in time while I waited for other shows. It is good though, but I infinitely prefer MLP.

Truth be told, there's a good chance that if I never watched Powerpuff girls, I would never have watched MLP:FIM. I had the mentality of run from it for the longest time, until I sat down with whichever kid I was watching at the time, and watched the show with them. From that point on I always had the mindset of "Watch it before you ridicule it"

That said, I sadly vote for MLP simply on the virtue that it is closer in my mind. I wish I could give them a fair and equal shot without having time factor in as a bias, but in truth I can't. The songs in MLP are good enough to stick with me, and the characters all fall more heavily on my mind than the PPG's ever did.

Though, I don't know why this has to be a contest. Cant we all just get along?

The googles didn't have a picture of Buttercup riding Rainbow Dash, so I had to settle on this one instead. The world can't contain that much awesome in one image I guess.

Discord's not better than HIM or Mojo Jojo or the Gang Green Gang, or Fuzzy Lumpkins.
He's better than all the PPG villains combined by leaps and bounds. He isn't even a villain, and that is why he is better. Chaos doesn't really have an alignment or agenda, he just happens to be against the protagonists when he is introduced. Also, he when he is on screen he is a scream which is much more than I can say for PPG villains.
he's fun to watch I'll give you that, but certainly IS a villain.
Discord is pretty much a text book example of chaotic evil, he's not out to just have a good time and is misunderstood or shunned for it, he creates chaos for the sake of his own sadistic amusement, he's pretty much like the joker in many respects.

the PPG rogue's gallery consists mostly out of clever twists on established tropes or pop culture.

what I also find quite an awesome yet underrated character is their "dad", the Professor, he was a very sympathetic character since he touched on things like fatherhood, loneliness, the life fulfilling experience of raising kids and worrying about their safety, despite having superpowers.

If there is one thing about mlp that I miss is a recurring male character that stands on equal ground with the main cast, instead of being a...pet...?...servant?

what is spike even?
