Examples are so bad it's not funny.

It depends on the fucking game, I wish people would understand that, and realism isn't a deciding factor in whether or not the game is fun all the time.

As long as the game has pretensions of realism, it should be at least pseudo-realistsic. I like playing a variety of shooters, like CoD to Brothers In Arms, The Orange Box, Borderlands, Crysis, et.c

Racing is the only genre I've played where in my experience making the game more realistic didn't also make the game less fun.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 really hits everything I like, not too frustrating as GRAW can get but certainly requiring tactics and caution. I love customizing my character, even in a shooter. The way magazines are discarded if they're close to empty but kept if around 20. The use of cover and smarter penetration (marble > couch). It has those crowning moments of awesome where you silently clear a room in seconds, as well as extended fire fights where you blaze away for a long time slowly gaining ground.

I like games like Ghost Recon for the tacticality, there's just something very rewarding in succesfully sneaking near someone and shooting him in the arse, but I also play Unreal Tournament, which is a lot more frantic.

Mostly sims, because I don't have ADD and don't like a four hour single player of shooting something every 0.5 seconds.

I like scoping out enemy positions, deciding the best tactics to use, and ordering my squad to do what I please. It's extremely intense and challenging which is what I like in my games.

I like my games pseudo-realistic. I want to be forced into cover and to think about how I'm going to approach a fight. Call of Duty is good for this, but I've never played a game that struck a better balance than the original Far Cry.

I want the game to feel right, a game can be any degree of realism but it has to feel right, when a game like farcry 2 comes along it doesn't feel right to me, maybe it's the fact that the gun takes up too much of the screen, or the gun doesn't "feel" like it has enough recoil, or the bullets don't do enough damage, or the fact that the cars don't bounce the way they should when driving over rough terrain.

Its hard to explain but here is another example

take the pistol in halo 1, the way it waggled when you moved, the smooth melee animation where you wacked a grunt with the but of the gun, the melee felt right, the way the gun bucked when you fired it, it felt very good to hold and use. In the later halo installments the weapon became much more static, the animations became much more simple and jerky, it didn't matter that the scope had been taken away the whole weapon felt different.

in farcry 2 none of the weapons felt right, none felt good to use, the art and beauty that the halo ce pistol had is absent from the weapons in farcry 2.
