I do find it hard to be the bad guy - sometimes there are some decisions I just don't want to make. However I have been a lot more ruthless during my recent playthrough of Fallout New Vegas, maybe because karma matters less than reputation.

Me and the writers of the game often have disputes about what is good. The biggest conundrum I've encountered is that of The New Californian Republic in FNV.

I certainly want to be on their good side when the shit hits the fan, and they are better than Caesars legion (hey I take racism over slavery of whoever any day), but it just seems that in almost all of the quests they ask me to do I end up royally fucking some other people I've been trying to build up a reputation in.
I think that's the point they're trying to get across. The NCR might look like the good guys, but deep down they're just selfish, corrupt pricks. And Ceasar is actually a pretty cool guy, he just has an inflated ego :)
Well yeah, except again, Caesar promotes slavery... so... theres that.
Well yeah, but depending on how you look at it it isn't all bad. I mean Im not advocationg slavery or anything but I think Ceasar has the whole "Survival of the Fittest" going on. Point is he has morals and laws and implements them constantly across all classes and ethnicities. But the NCR depending on who you ask murder isn't a crime, "stealing? Nah, this is just redistribution of wealth", "Slaves? No, they're indentured servants" "Murder? Oh, you mean that body under the carpet?". Point being Ceasar is honest about everything he does the NCR isn't. He says fuck with me I'll kill you. NCR says you have the freedom of speech then takes you away in the night because you're the voice of dissent.

Well, okay fine the NCR are scumbags. But just because Caesar is being open about his assholism does not make him a good guy. In the end I feel it would be better to be on the good side of the NCR. Not that I actually support them, In "That Lucky old Sun" I distributed power to the entire region, and I support an Independent New Vegas. And also, I don't believe NCR has ever enslaved anybody. Or did I miss that quest?

Does the Sharecropper farm count? Because it seemed like a pretty shitty deal for the people there. Im not sure though. I only have one playthrough and thats not even done yet. Im pretty sure there was no outright slavery though. And no being open about being an asshole doesn't make you good. but I think the whole point (kinda) of the game is to show that there is no true "right" or "wrong" just degrees of evil

I tend to be good, and on the thought of Fable 3 how in the name of all that is holy is no drink limit and every single one of my subjects being drunk a good thing?

I've re-played through a couple games as an asshole. However my first play-through is always as a good character. I recently beat Fable 3 and I wasn't that impressed with it. I found 2 to be more fun even if its final boss was extremely pathetic. Also I really missed the time magic from the 2nd that let you teleport behind enemies.

I mostly play the good guy, cause bad guy often feels limited. I can never be the kind villain I want to be; only baby eating sociopath.

I have an evil streak in games but most of the time I'll make all the good decisions. However, during Sims, I am evil. It gives me great pleasure to make them penniless and living the most horrible life I can possibly give them. But that's not really evil. Right?

Most recently, I played Star Wars The Force Unleashed and I almost always choose the good ending where you fight the emperor but only because he is easier to fight than Darth Vader.
You have to fight the hard fight with Vader anyway...if you choose the bad ending at that point, all you have to do is an easy fight to finish Vader off. The Emperor is the hardest fight.

I would have chosen "Light shines from my every pore" but then I remembered Fallout 3 and I have to take "I'm pretty good, but no angel"

When it comes to actual "decisions" in games I almost always end up going for the "good" choice regardless of my intentions. However when it comes to reappropriation of wealth I'm not such an angel... Too many years of playing adventure games eh.

I'm not sure I follow your logic. To me The Emperor is much easier than Vader; although this might has something to do with the fact that he doesn't have his lightsaber. Vader is much harder because he can block almost all your attacks and can pretty much choose at will when he wants to interrupt your combo attack for no other reason other than cheating.

Something similar happened to me when I played the demo for Heavy Rain. I was at the part in the hotel when that shady looking fellow barges into the door of a woman you were interrogating. On the first playthrough I went in after him without a second thought. On the second playthrough I wanted to see what would happen if I just left. It took every ounce of strength I had to walk away from it!

I don't find myself playing moral choice games. Even if I did, I would usually go to being a bad guy, because its fun to be an asshole.

I'm always always good. Being a jerk might be fun for some, but it kind of messes up the story when you're a dick to people and yet you're still "saving the world".

If the "evil" moral choice came down to more than you just being a jerk to people, maybe it might be more interesting to me. But as it is, the "good" path is usually the only one that fits the story.
