This is a pointless contest because you aren't fighting fair. The Dark Souls guy gets to keep the ability to respawn but Dovahkiin loses high-level Shouts and Powers? What gives?

He fought bigger shit than some Dragonwannabe. Died, came back dead and still beat them into the god damn dirt! Dark Souls character will win.

...my Skyrim character, solely because Skyrim's mechanics are a load of crap.

With enchanting + smithing, my character two-hits dragons with a 1H sword and maxxed out damage resistance unaided by mods. The massive health bar basically confers invincibility against Dark Souls's non infinitely scaling damage. Invisibility, archery, ranged spells and paralysis also come into play if Skyrim is actually feeling threatened.

No, this is not a good thing in anything but random forum thought battles. Dark Souls's characters simply cannot be overpowered to the point of having no specializations at all. Even if you managed max level, you're still limited by equipment choices and get killed by being stupid. Skyrim doesn't achieve that.

My Dark Souls character.

He's already an impenetrable fortress and he's still leveling. Meanwhile, my Skyrim character stopped leveling when my main skill set was maxed to 100. Skyrim's leveling sucks btw.

And any character that can defeat Gwynn, can take on anything the land of Skyrim can through at him/her simply by breathing on it.

Well I think there is obvious bias in the OP. From what I read I saw that the Dark Souls guy loses nothing where as the Dragonbon loses most of his shouts power? Thats sounds like bullshit to me. And when you just say that the Dark Souls guy will just come back that is making a boring and shitty argument. When you just pull out a "I win because I respawn" card it totally ruins the match and is a waist of time to read.

In a fair fight with both of the characters at a good amount of strength(no infinite leveling Dark Souls guy) and no 100 maxed out on everything Dragonborn I would easily give it to the Dragonborn.

If you take away the shouts of the Dragonborn you have a normal person from Skyrim. He is not special in any way. A random Joe could be just as strong as the Dragonborn. You cant take away what the Dragonborn is notable for and call it a fair or accurate fight.

And what kind of Dark Souls protaganist and Dragon born are we talking about? Wizards, Rogues, Warrriors are whatever.

In a fight where the Dragonborn is just a guy from Skyrim then the Dark Souls guy wins every time. If the Dragonborn is actually the Dragonborn(Can use his shouts) then the Dragonborn will win. The Dark Souls guy gets one chance to beat the Dragonborn (in a fair fight. No infinite respawn bullshit) and I just dont see them being able to defeat the Dragonborn their first time.

Dark Souls character because he can't die. My skyrim Breton is immortal in the never aging sense but once you stab him enough you won't see him out and about ever again. But even if you do manage to kill the undead, he'll just come back for more again and again and again. So he'll win ...eventually.

Through reading this thread I have learnt that both:
A) People hardly read the OP.
and B) People hardly know game mechanics.

I have already established that Dark Souls guy only gets one chance.

That point you made is exactly my biggest complaint about Skyrim, it is hard for me to have the will to grind an unfamiliar skill set to get to lvl 50. How about a general leveling system so you can keep leveling up but also have the skill leveling so even if have say 100 Destruction you don't have to suddenly start swinging a sword you know as much about as a airplane's cockpit.

I remember my Skyrim character being shot in the face, stabbed and then stamped on by a giant. He then proceeded to kill everything with his voice and then punched a mammoth to death for giggles.

My Daemon soul's character however is dying from a single sword cut.

I think Skyrim would win on endurance alone.

since my skyrim character had 100 in all skills it would be a sniper arrow sneak attack critical...the dark souls character wouldn't be able to see her. But since both games have massive flaws that detract from their playability the dark souls character would fall through the level and the skyrim character would be stuck in the floor :p

I dont know....dragonborn is OP as hell but the dark soul character has seen things

things that cannot be unseen, things that turn a soul into a cold dark husk. One look into his dark lifeless eyes would convey the sheer horror he has to go through on a constant basis.

Although if the dragonborn is an archer with a bunch of sneak skills/abilities, the dark soul guy doesnt stand a chance.

Kind of defeats the whole purpose taking away half of the Dovahkiin's powers.
No kidding. "Who would win, this ravenous grizzly bear, or this angry deer whose legs I just smashed with a club?"

I'm saying my Dovahkiin. Dude's drinking buddies with a shit ton of Daedric gods. The right bribe, and Chosen Undead isn't seen again on this plane. Also, Dragon Shouts for the win. Fuck this "first word only" sillypants.

Skyrim doesn't have stamina, so Dovahkiin can just keep swinging until Mr. Dark Souls can't block or dodge anymore and go to town.

Skyrim wins.
Skyrim uses stamina.
OP: As powerful as my Skyrim character is, Sir Rusty faces foes as deadly as him before breakfast everyday. So I'll go with my Dark Souls character. Also, the Dark Souls character can parry and dodge, where Mr. Dragonborn only knows the "run forward and spam attack while chugging health potions until everything is dead" way of fighting.

Well if you want to go by who would win base of of actual character not just what you play as then skyrim. My reason is that your skyrim character has way more shouts than the general video gamer knows. One of these shouts is the ability to shout people out of existance. If you dont believe me look up the the skyrim character.
If you go by game then you cant tell because of things like the difference in damage on dark souls compared to skyrim. However i do believe that the shout that slows time would have to be removed because no video game programmer in thier right mind would ever alow time manipulation in pvp. I also think that dark souls should not have thier ability to respone since this is a contest.

Go ahead. Give dovahkiin full power shouts it won't matter. You know why? Because chosen undead has a little something called "Vow of Silence" and "Great Magic Barrier" and "Wrath of the Gods". Vow of silence is a spell that makes it impossible to cast spells within a looooong radius. With great magic barrier, any magic attacks cast outside the range of vow that do hit will do piddly, negligible amounts of damage. Wrath of the gods is an area of effect spell that unleashes a circular shockwave that does unreal amounts of damage AND repels magic bolts and arrows etcetera. So all of dovahkiin's shouts are nullified and his arrows won't connect. That leaves us with meele to melee combat and Dark souls guy will win everytime in meele.

I find it funny that you said Skyrim can't pause time to down health potions... when that has been written into the lore of the games as something your character does.

Having a fight between two characters means nothing when you take lore out of them and impose arbitrary limitations.

In a fight were both players can use all thier powers they have in lore.. the Dovahkiin would win, because he cant stay dead.

In a fight as you limited... I guess the Dark souls guy would win, only because you gimped The Dovahkiin so much.

Dark Souls character only wins because of the simple fact that he can reincarnate indefinitely, at least until he becomes fully Hollow, which seems to cause one to remain dead permanantly.

Otherwise, Dovakhiin would win, simply because he can take far more damage than realistically possible (unlike DS guy, who can be killed by one or two simple sword swipes from common undead), he has much deadlier spells (including shouts), and he can call on a fucking dragon to fight for him. You can also get the Shield Bash/Shild Charge which is so ridiculously OP that it staggers/knocks over GIANTS.

Take away DS guy's reincarnation and Dovakhiin wins hands down. One FUS on a cliff more than thirty feet off the ground would pretty much spel the end of the battle.
