It feels like most DLC is just a way to nickel and diming by take stuff off the game and selling it later just to make more money.

Don't care, if I want it, I'll buy it. If I don't, I won't.

Just be glad they make DLC, else you have to buy expansion packs :x

That ain't news, and as long as people will be buying it, they'll keep making it, it's not like xyz corporation really cares about what you feel, they only care about what you buy.

In short, vocal protest ain't gonna do squat, you need to talk with your wallet (and it would need to be a massive movement to make a dent in this new philosophy...)

That being said, i personally have no problem with worthwhile DLC's , you know, the ones that actually adds something meaningful to the game, i've bought a few...

I don't like the DLC that adds new achievements even if you don't buy/download the new content.

Why do we need to protest DLC?

I enjoyed the DLC of the games I own.

Fallout 3 = Holy Snap...

Oblivion = Sweet (remember it as my first DLC content)

Borderlands = Level Cap Increase + Newer Enemies....and Zombies

Protesting No
Your Choice Yes

You DONT have to spend money to buy the cool stuff but dont cry when you get a big fat spoiler when posting here.

DLC is fine as long as it's an add on to the game and not on the disc(RE5 and Street Fighter 4), no one is making you buy it, and hell I like the way Biowear and Bethseda have been doing DLC.

DLC is fine when done right, like with Fallout 3: That was a full game with 40+ hours of gameplay, and even the worst of its DLC still added a good few hours of new stuff. What I absolutely hate is when they take stuff out just to have it as DLC, like any and all day 1 DLC (I'm looking at you, Dragon Age).

You answer you're own question with the way most people are going to answer anyways. Yes plenty of DLC is just whoring for money "Horse Armor" but some of it adds real value to a product and is worth the price of admission such as the Borderlands DLC.

As for devs just cutting content out of the development cycle so they can put it on disc... does it happen? Sometimes maybe, but most of it would never have made their publishers deadline and you never ever would have seen the content... ever. DLC has made it viable for them to go to their publishers and say "Hey, we're going to make you some more money by finishing up this content post release sound good?"

I'm all for DLC and like most people i avoid the useless crap like alt. costumes.

Depends on if they have DLC planned before the game even comes out or if it's just that they didn't have the time to fit it on the disk so they release a download for it. Think fallout three. Operation Anchorage was originally supposed to be on the disk, but Bethesda just didn't have time to include it, so they shipped it as DLC. Now some of it (such as the twenty buck maps for WM2) are basically just there to get as much money out of the consumer as possible.

Considering it's an option, it seems silly to protest something that isn't harming you unless you let it.

Is $60 enough for a game or not? Plus all of fallout 3's DLC should be on the origanal game. Why should I pay for a map pack or a difficulty level. It now feels like I'm buying 70% or 80% of a game. Why should people with out online get have to pay more answer that.

Dumb post. Been posted a million times before with a more thought out OP, more content and more discussion value.

Because the original game didn't have those features, they added it later after release time to give players more to do if they choose. You're not making much of a case I'm afraid, especially with Fallout 3.

I didn't have to pay for any of the day one DLC for that(or at least I don't think I had to, same with ME2, as long as you got it new)
