Hell yes PS3 exclusives are worth it.

I have like 10 exclusives, and they were all worth it.

Yes PS3 exclusives are worth it, especially when Sony owned companies put out the game.

Why? Why is it so hard to own more than one platform?

and please dont have this be a place to argue about which console is better im just interested about the games
Don't make this a competition.
He wasn't trying to compete, he was giving another reason to get a PS3.
Sarcasm? If you're serious, that sounds like a straight-up console comparison to me. And those always end badly. Likewise, it probably would not have drawn my attention had it given some evidence as to why he thinks the exclusive titles are not worth it, rather than say Halo is better, and leaving it at that.
It was just a joke.
But seriously, I think that the exclusives are worth it. Some big franchises have moved on from Sony exclusivity (I'm looking at you GTA), but there are still more and more heavy hitters evolving in the new generation. Uncharted for example was a breath of fresh air after the atrocity of the newer Lara Croft games and the sequel looks fantastic, adding multiplayer, smoothing out transitions from gunplay to climbing.

Killzone 2 is another one that's been out for a while but still well worth getting. I wasn't too fussed with the single player campaign, but it gives one of the best online experiences available on the console.

Then you have plenty others, Little Big Planet and Resistance are both favourites, but I feel that there are two titles which will really set the PS3 apart in the exclusives market: Heavy Rain and The Last Guardian. Heavy Rain is made by Farenheit/Indigo Prophesy developer, Quantic Dream and follows a similar style; very cinematic, pretty much one long quick-time event, but much more immersive then it sounds. Check out some trailers for it. The Last Guardian is the new game by Team Ico, who gave us Ico and The Shadow Of The Colossus on PS2, both of which I feel have yet to be bested artistically since their release, even counting this gen releases.

That came out a bit longer than intended, but that should give you something to work with.

I have both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, and I like the 360 a lot more for exclusives. The only exclusives I liked were Valkyria Chronicles and inFAMOUS.

PS3 exclusives are so worth it. Not only the retail games, but the PSN exclusives too. If you're really considering buying one with the price drop, I recommend you go through with it.

You have;
Little Big Planet, which is OK.
Metal Gear Solid, which is overrated.
and Flower.

I'd say no. But I have all three consoles, so I don't care. Wii has no good games (decided to keep to play older games on GC and 64), PS3 has literally only one or two, and 360 and PC have all the fun titles. But if you like convoluted RPGs and anime, PS3 might be for you.

Disgaea 3 anyone?

Well, even the non-exclusives look better and--in my opinion--play better then the 360 versions. I just dont like Xbox controllers. I cant be the only one.

But for me, the selling point was MGS 4 as an exclusive. I am a huge fan of the series, so you might not be as enthusiastically. But the ps3 will now be smaller and use less power, and only 300 dollars. So i vote: go buy one.

EDIT: Playstation Network also lets you download older games, so thats another plus. You can play old FF games and stuff like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is how we point out a fanboy. No points made as to why any exclusive is bad, references how the best game on the other system should be enough for you, and refers to the owners of the system as though they were a member of a secret club.

I know have both of the systems in my house. They are both worth it.
Killzone 2
Uncharted
Ratchet and Clank
Metal Gear Solid 4
Heavy Rain is coming up
and fat princess is amazing
and you have all of the multiplatform games.

Trust me, if you are a gaming kind of person, it is worth it to have every console in your house, including the PS3. This way, I don't miss out on exclusives on any system.

You've been seriously under-buying for your ps3.

Is it worth buying if you don't have a 360? Yes.

Is it worth buying if you do have a 360? No.

The exclusives are great on both consoles but it seems like a waste of money to buy a new console for a handful of games.

And he has no idea what he's on about, there are more than one or two, i have 6 sat next to me.
The PS3 has about 8 exclusives worth mentioning, and about 5 worth buying.

Avoid Killzone, Haze and Resistance: Fall of Man.

LittleBigPlanet is definitely worth picking up (assuming you like platformers).

Metal Gear Solid 4, while overrated and not even in the same league as it's predecessors, it's still a good game, bar the poor characters and tedious cutscenes. The multiplayer is a good laugh.

Flower, while I haven't played it much, is unusual. Worth picking up cheap.

flOw, while you can play it for free on the PC, is good.

GT5 should be a decent arcade-y racer, but if you have a 360 I'd suggest Forza 3 over GT5 every day of the week.

Heavenly Sword if...Never mind. Don't bother.

God of War III, while VASTLY overrated, will be worth getting.

Warhawk is pretty fun. Nothing special, but not bad.

Avoid inFamous if you can get your hands on Prototype for either console.

That about sums it up, really.

Even if you have a 360, the PS3's exclusive lineup is worth it.

No, that actually doesn't sum it up. I disagree with every single point you made. I'm too tired to specifically mention everything that is wrong with that list, so someone else can have at it. :)

He's asking for any informed opinions and I'm giving him mine, ergo, it isn't wrong. Or right.

No, it certainly isn't wrong or right. I probably just have a touch of the "fanboy" after selling my 360 for a PS3. That, and I'm tired. It appeared to me that you were stating those things as facts, and that's the only reason I responded in the way that I did. I should have said that while I respect your opinion, it should be known that the vast majority of people (including myself) would disagree with your points.

Actually, Resistance Fall of man is brilliant, as is inFamous. And you can't recommend forza over GT as they aren't out yet, forza could be terrible for all you know.

Now that sums it up.
Resistance: Fall of Man (not Resistance 2, I haven't played that enough to really give an opinion) was a brown/grey, bland FPS with ridiculously bad AI and equally bad gameplay.

inFamous isn't brilliant, but it isn't bad either. Prototype is simply more over-the-top, as superpowered sandbox games should be. inFamous is restrictive.

As for Forza/GT, I know that Forza 3 will have a superior online community, as it will have an improved, new version of Forza 2's. More customisation, more options, and more longevity.

Not saying that GT5 will be a bad racing game, it will surely be superior to most. Forza 3 will simply offer more bang for your buck.

Well, while I prefer the 360, I'm not a fanboy (I vowed to never play to one side after Nintendo made the Wii, as I was previously a Nintendo fanboy). I sold my Wii for a PS3, however I still play my 360 more, primarily due to the online service and my huge distaste for the Playstation controllers.

Being as how I'm against exclusive games all around I'm going to have to answer no on that principle alone.
I agree there have been some good ones.
I just don't think it overcomes the fact that it's nothing more than a selling point.
It's not like the games can not be made to work on xbox or pc.

Big Sony fanboy reporting...

I have had enough of exclusives, people look to the PS3 and want the exclusives and vice versa, just make games for the main platforms and consider the lesser platforms, not considering both, please everyone rather then a specific audience, if the game can't be ported, lesser the quality (i.e. PS3 to Wii).
