There's a reason people don't use sniper rifles in close range IRL; they're really goddamn long and unwieldy. Implement that in the games and it'l solve the problem.

Quickscoping uses a broken game advantage to it's advantage.
Its that second when just aiming down the sights your aim point will automatically lock onto a target.
It doesn't take skill. It's just timing.
And good riddance. now you will have to learn how to shoot.

I said viewpoint, not opinion, if he doesn't like quickscopers, I don't give a shit, but it's the dumbass, absolutely fucking braindead idea that it's cheap.

Your aim point, does not. DOES NOT, lock on, anyone who thinks that is categorically and demonstrably wrong it takes a great deal more skill than playing with an assault rifle or SMG or any automatic weapon, seriously, if quickscoping was cheap, then people who did it would have really high K/Ds, yet the people who do it most prominently, i.e. Hutch, MoodieSwede, Small Beans, hold around a 1/5 K/D while someone like Wingsofredemption who primarily plays a defensive style using automatics holds a 4-5 K/D.

Yeah, guys.
Exploiting an aim-assist along with a perk that makes you aim super fast is super hard to pull off. Plus, it blesses Youtube with tons and tons of awesome montage videos all using that awesome song from a million years ago: 'Bodies' by Drowning Pool (Only the best song EVAR! WHATWHAT!?!).

Plus the game isn't about realism! I mean, sure I'd hate it if shotguns were suddenly accurate from across the map, or if assault rifles had zero spread when fired from the hip, but quick-scoping is serious business. My brother's dog-walker's cousin's dry-cleaner's Nephew's girlfriend's brother is a Marine sniper, and he uses quickscope in the field. For realz.

By the way, bodies is like sooo last year, the new stuff is any hardcore dance remix ... although they all sound the same anyway, so who knows if there different songs or just a different part of the same song.

On topic. It actually pains me to admit this but you can quick scope on black ops, I was a victim of it a few matches ago.

No, I will not tell anybody which sniper it was. (but since there is only 4 of them it wont take long to figure out)

Isn't that...kinda the point of the sniper though? Whenever I use the sniper, I camp. And even then, I tend to get killed. Granted, I suck at COD, but still, people can tell where you are.

I'm a fan of tactical sniping, take a few shots get a few kills then move to a new place with a viewpoint on my last location and get a few more kills before once again moving on.

Also, there are better, less heavy handed ways of removing quickscope, like lowering aim assist on sniper (it doesn't help anyway) and increasing the aim time.

Oh man, do I agree. I've been playing CoD4 because I don't have the money to buy Black Ops, but that's beside the point. I just loathe quickscopers. So many good streaks down the drain...

Also, I just LOVE it when I get sniped but the bullet went about a foot to my right, but it's still a OHK. God dammit.

Viable solution to fix this issue: Make it take more time to ready the snipe to aim, rather than have the bullets not appear.

Seriously, it makes more sense to have a Barret-50cal require a second or two to raise to eye level, considering the weight of the that damn thing, than it does to simply remove close range sniping. That way, realism is kept (somewhat) in tact, while encouraging players to stay at a distance and/or "hardscope", rather than run and gun.

Maybe in CoD but i don't really play the game. Camping is just a cheap tactic that everyone thinks snipers do. I only camp campers.

How the hell is camping cheap? Your oponent is sitting in as corner, not moving. You know where he is once he kills you, often before. If you can't counter that you have some serious prroblems.

There should be some games that have guns AS THEY ARE, and some games that go for balance, rather than just force people to use dumbed down guns (in every game) for the sake of online balance.

Im demolitions! Heavy Fire power and explosives.
That means in Reach i use a lot of Grenade Launcher and stuff that goes boom and in CoD I use a lot of guns that should be turrets

My bad. I agree that stealth play is viable and very VERY fun. =D

I'd almost say that it was the ONLY option back in MW2. It minimized a lot of the BS.

Ninja was way better than UAV jammer. It just gave me a warning when the radar started to jam
