If I lived in the UK I'd be all over it. That program and programs like it are making music into a sickly shadow of what it should be.

I generally ignore X Factor because I don't watch normal TV and I never pay attention to the music charts.

So let the masses have there christmas no1, for I will be ignorant of it and as they say ignorance is bliss!

So what if whoever wins the X factor will have the Christmas number 1. That'll be their only hit and no-one will remember them in a few years time.

I hate X-factor, but I hate Rage Against the Machine just as much. They're one of my least favourite bands ever. I can't stand their music, I think they're massively over-rated and poor live. I saw them last summer and I couldn't stand them.

There is a silly option!

"Hell no. I love X-factor"
Damn it, I was gonna make that joke...

OT: I don't like X-factor, or RATM.
But I hate the former more, so I might buy the song, as I like it better than whatever crap the X-factor is releasing this year.

I am allergic to "rebels" that work for multinational corps, so no thanks. If you want to make a political band, be a man, say no, pay the fucking price like every other non-fraud artist out there and keep it underground. Also, write less horrible lyrics. ************. UNHHHHHH.

I like the idea of it. I own the album so I wont be buying it. Last I heard there were about 300,000 people signed up to the campaign. About 16 million people watch xfactor. I don't like your odds.

The biggest problem is that RATM only appeal to a smaller part of the population. Rick Astley would have been a more inspired choice.

Exactly. Its must be hard being a rebelious communist from the west wing of a big fuck off mansion. If they were so dedicated to the cause they would give their albums away and be living hand to mouth.

I think Mastodon deserve much more credit than what they get. They're fucking geniuses and their latest album is probably one of the best of the past few years. I say we buy that.

Due to this campaign the morons in our 6th form common room played killing in the name of repeatedly ruining the song for me

rage against the machine suck
its like they try to have all the eco hippie liberal messages that i love system of a down for but then put it in a rap
I say rap because thats the only way i can describe the singer's style
plus tom morello isnt as good as you think he is
call me a hypocrit because I like some audioslave stuff but that has nothing to do with TM

there is also this:

Skip till 2:20 and ponder the meaning of the word douche as you look at the bassist [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu67yo-3jfw]

I just dont get their appeal. The band is mediocre at best so why do they deserve to be christmas number 1?

Why not someone who has released some universaly great records?
My vote goes to Muse.

if it would work, i'd do it. however, it won't work obviously.

if there is one thing we've learned about the british public, it's that there is a greater proportion of douchebags to sane people.

also, who actually gives a fuck about xmas number 1? the fact that x-factor gets it every year completely devalues the whole thing.
