Well I hate both of them. But riddle me this. Which of the two keeps my parents and siblings quiet for a few sweet, sweet hours a week? XFactor. So that one wins I'm afraid.

But hey suggest a band I don't want to hang, draw and quarter (probably have a hard time there) and fuck yeah why not?

I HATE the X-factor and all of it's fake, sparkling bullshittery, but I also dislike Rage against the machine (to a much lesser degree).

In the end, couldnt give a damn, nobody gives two shits about the charts these days anyway.

This really minds me of the whole Rick Astley winning the MTV awards thing.

I might do this, just for spite.

I swear someone tried this last year...

Also - The band (or songwriters) would get mechanical royalties, so not all the money will end up with Sony.
Yay for less than 10 Cents of every album sold!

Well, either way, some money will end up with Sony.

Why is "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" not a poll option?
You sir, win.

And however hilarious it would be, I will not participate in these shenanigans. Let them have their precious award. Rage against the machine transcends pitiful awards.

Meh. I'd much prefer to see 'Muppet's Bohemian Rhapsody' as christmas number one. While I dislike x factor, I'm not partial to RATM either. Besides, I never realised christmas number 1 was that important anymore...

Gentlemen. If we want somthing like this to work then we need a song that all of the public will eat up possibly even more than The X Factor. I propose next year sombody holds auditions to get a group of superb unknown singers together to make 'Band Aid Zero'. A cover of 'Do They Know Its Christmas' done in the same way as previously done. Think about it.

"Fuck the system and buy RATM's song"

Yeah, let's fuck the system by following a different cult. How different is that?

I'm going to sit this one out.

Why is there no "hell no, RATM are no better than that X-Factor trip" option? I'm insulted that I can't choose an option that actually means I dislike both sides! ¬_¬

As it is, they won't do it, I beg that they won't, because that'll just prove that one load of mainstream rubbish can be replaced by another, and that propaganda beats talent in the music industry. Although we already know that.

Greetings fellow sane person! Have you barricaded yourself into a safehouse against the baying hordes of blind followers of either side of this war too?

Hell yeah. Things like the X-factor are sucking the life and soul from music. Simon Cowell needs to pay.
