I know exactly what I'm talking about. I despise it, and that is my opinion. Yes, I have been exposed to the "good" and "underground" rap, and it's just as shitty as the rest of it, lyrics aside. It's the fundamentally obnoxious vocals and drum/bass arrangements that really get to me; they're the foundation of the music and the removing of them makes the music a hell of a lot more tolerable (though still not at all enjoyable), but then it ceases to be rap.Ares Tyr post=18.71319.779239 said:

I consider "rap music" to be an oxymoron. It's not appealing to the ears, it's just talking over some un-rhythmic beat (any rap music made in the last 10 years, anyway, I've never listened to 80s/early 90s stuff). What's wrong with me saying the music is shit? I don't like it. I think it's shit. You don't. We are each individuals and we each have our own tastes that are shaped by our prior experiences and exposures to music as well as other social phenomena. I never said anything about hip-hop, though I dislike it almost as much as I do rap. I never said that rap requires no talent to create or perform, either. I don't like rap in the slightest, but I'll admit that some underground rappers/groups like the Roots and such do have talent. However, the mainstream acts like Kanye West, Jay-Z, 50 Cent et al are arrogant wipes of rectal smear who should be ashamed for ruining mainstream music.
