Now this is something that people have heard time and time again; "Real men don't cry". Obviously there's some difference between everyone's opinion of what a "real man" is, but as a whole, how do you feel about this statement?

Personally, I think it's a load of bollocks. Given the right, or perhaps that should be wrong, situation, I feel that anyone could cry. Also, I see it as a sign of emotional health, beneficial both to the crying person and everyone around them. f a man breaks down and cries, he is using what I would see as an acceptable outlet, rather than intense rage and violence that some people can resort to.

But enough from me. Do you think that a real man should never cry?

Depends, are they crying because their dog died, or because they're watching Twilight?

Anyone can cry whenever they bloody want. Crying is a way for a lot of people to grieve or vent their sadness. I cry.

I believe that given the right circumstances men should be able to cry, it's healthy, nothing wrong with it. But neither women or men should cry at a whim, it's better to keep your composure for the most part.

Anyone who actually believes that is either retarded or ignorant. Everyone cries. Everyone has emotions. Kind of comes with being human.

I don't cry often, but when I do, I love it (at least, after its done). Sometimes you've just got to let it all out.

Well I wouldn't expect him to cry because he broke a nail, but then again I don't expect girls to do that either.

Plus, you always feel better after a bloody big cry.

I can't remember the last time I cried. But if someone died it's ok to cry.

I'd go more in line with real men very rarely cry. And they don't avoid it because they're afraid what other people will think, but because it's impractical and useless.

Everyone should be able to cry without your peers looking down on you for it. I cried when i grandfather died and i remember my friends still laughed at me for it...though i was 8 at the time and i guess everyone was mean at that point.

I haven't cried in the last few years or so even when i broke my rib (ran into a car..don't ask..) Though i have gotten teary eyed at some things such as the end of Mgs4. Of course these were manly tears made of pure testosterone in the shape of lions.

I cry only when I'm extremely stressed (Up till 2 working on a paper, and I still have no idea what to write), or completely overwhelmed by a situation.

For example, about a month ago, my school had a "Welcome Back!" carnival, at the same time as a frosh football game. Apparently at the game some lame-os from another school shanked someone, so the police came and forced everybody off campus. However, my backpack was locked in the gym, so I turned around and asked one of the security guards if someone could unlock the door. He just yelled at me to shut up and leave. This happened several times, they screamed in my face that if I didn't get off campus immediately there would be consequences. I came home and just burst into tears, that was the first bad encounter I've had with police. Terrifying.

This!

Although I suppose 'watching Twilight' and 'their dog died' could be replaced with LOTS of alternatives...
