Why are there so many Religion based topics recently... maybe I haven't been paying close attention but it seems that in the past couple of days there have been a lot of them. What do you guys think? (For the most part)

It's a very broad subject, usually involving almost everyone having a different opinion based on their own beliefs. Don't know why it has been brought up alot recently, personally i have never revealed my beliefs on this forum but i guess thats just me.

We get reminded about something, then some new people post threads about religion, which occasionally leads to flame wars, which then leads to someone telling people to use the search-bar, then the thread dies down, then some person actually uses the search bar, and he revives the whole damned thing, then I take a gun to my brains and my brains are all like "Oh noes! He gonna take a gun to us!" and I'm like "STFU brains my gun will pawn you!" and then there I was zombie.

Most of us are sick of it.
There's always been over 9000 threads about religion at the Escapist, at least, since I've been here, but the numbers have slowly increased. It just leads to a flame war and gets nowhere.Insomniaku said:

What im trying to say about atheists is they thrive off the escapist(Which is good place to thrive off of) and to show other people the ways of atheism...so in the end alot of the athesists here are missionaries for atheism. Not that there anything wrong with it, im just saying the new church that is arising is Atheism because of religous topics and debates in which atheism appeals to the most who look for the truth, and realize all they have already is lies. Everytime one pops up another will too, and another, then they hibernate and will eventually return with the spring...
thank god someone made this thread before I did. As an atheist I'am really starting to get get tired of Atheist v.s. religion threads . I think any kind of religion discussion should be banned because its only going to attract 14 year old kids typing in there premature thoughts on the internet. Dammit.. forgot I'am 14 years old .

In all honesty I think a lot of people might be posting these threads just for the sake of posting a thread, and they can't think of anything else to flame about. Reminds me of when I posted the "Waatchman Sequel" Thread, just because there were several people who had 'expressed' their dislike of the htousands of Watchman threads that poped up. Either that or people just don't know how to use the search button.
personally i think its because if an actual debate, note debate not flamewar, occurs between civilized peoples then it actually makes for a very interesting discussion. The hard part is trying to keep the morons that sit there all day and badmouth other people for no adequite reason.
