Revenge often gets taken way out of proportion if used too often. In my experience, the Revengee has one of those mental gymnastics syndromes where they think they did absolutely nothing wrong. And thus creates a Downward Spiral of revenge that Ends with someone growing the balls to just walk away.
Call me naïve, but, despite all it's flaws, I'm a firm believer in the justice system. Its failure in righting what is wrong is no reason to circumvent it, rather it is reason to work towards its improvement.

Ever seen Punisher? Yeah, my degrees of revenge vary on the situation. If you prank me, I prank you back. You hurt my family, I murder your's and burn down the house. And if I have time, piss on the ashes. Even have a Punisher Revenge Kit/Zombie Suvival Kit put together, complete with Maverick 88 Shotgun and about 12 Deer Slugs and 40 buckshot shells. I live for revenge. When I go back home to my family, they do so many bad things, I spend most of my time getting revenge in some way. It's delicious.
Being against revenge myself, i do not believe in it. I do not believe because of the sole fact that nothing good ever comes out of Revenge. In all cases of Revenge 'Movies/Real Life', it does nothing but create bad drama, and thus a bad life. Only a weak man or women would consider revenge instead of moving on. Revenge Sex im all for, come and get me ladies!
I will share a revenge story of mine, just to illuminate just how I feel about it.
One day I was doing my laundry down at the public laundromat. Some guy decided that drying his clothes was a waste of his own money, so he decided to waste mine. He took my clothes out of the dryer during a cycle I paid for and placed his own in. He thought I didn't see him do it so he thought he was in the clear. To get back at him I went over to the vending machine, purchased a cola drink, and proceeded to pour it into the dryer with the other guys clothes. Did I feel bad? At first, but then I saw his reaction and had to stop myself from laughing.

revenge is only needed in extreme situations. people are jerks and assholes by thier very nature so to me its expected that people will do things to me(and I likewise to them) that make us all want revenge. Now that said jerk and asshole are one thing but when someone is a bastard or evil and takes from you something or someone that can't be replaced then all bets are off and you make them pay.
