Can't believe this hasn't been done before, which Lord of the Rings movie is your favourite?

All the others have had best of threads, Starwars, Back to the Future, Terminator, etc. Now it's time for LotR even though it was a while ago that they were released.

Anyway the first is the most interesting to me, the race for survival, the fellowship all together battling ruff terrain and giant monsters, and of course Boromir.

Return of the king. Really the entire saga is excellent, despite the differences with the books, I mean elves in Helm's Deep?!!!!

RotK is the best film by a mile. I couldn't help but get all tingly during the charge of the Rohirrim. Just typing about it is making me want to watch it all again. It even counter-balances the 15 different and getting bored now endings. Shame we didn't see the Shire under Wormtongue though instead of all of the teary endings.

BTW, TT is the best book though. He wrote his best action during the siege of Helms Deep.

I like the fellowship the most, since its more of an adventure, rather than a big war.

And you see the Nazgual most often.

I'm with Batfred. That beautiful, epic speech by Theoden, the charge of the Rohirrim and the last stand at the Black Gate are all incredible moments. Yeah I get the same weird tingle about it too. But the conflict between Sam, Frodo and Gollum is all more intriguing in TT.
Anyone know if they actually filmed the battles in the Shire at the end? What's on the special editions?

they didn't because if you think about it, the battle for the shire would have looked stupid. they killed off saruman at orthank at the start of the 3rd in the special edition. it was awesome.

OT: mine is the ROTK, it's easily the best made film of the 3.

I hated them all. I miss the Peter Jackson who made Brain Dead (Dead alive to Americans) and Meet the Feebles, bring him back!

Although if I had to choose which annoyed me the least, Two Towers. Dunno why.

EDIT: I mean seriously, this is so much better than the battle of Helms whatever.

GORE!

I did like King Kong, however.
No it's not, and violence isn't everything.

Can't believe we are complete opposites on this, you like King Kong and Avatar and I couldn't give a shit about them! Hell, I watch the LotR trilogy every year it was so damn good.

Also I say the original King Kong was heaps better than the last one even though I wish they had more sympathy for Kong.

ROTK, I cry like a pussy every time.

I'd love to see Petey do another disgusting B Movie though.

I think the fellowship, simply because I didn't believe a film could do justice to the LOTR and I was wrong.

I haven't used that for a while. Anyway, I suppose I should have put in my OP that that was my opinion also. I'll do that now.

And violence is everything to me! I love gory and violent films!

LOTR would have been much more tolerable if everyone exploded in fountains of blood. As it stands, it was a several hour journey into boredom and mediocrity for me.
No duh it's my opinion and also Pull the other one!

I like violence to but some movies really don't need it and flipping Kong and Avatar is tedious and lame compared to LotR.

Ah screw it, we are just going to keep repeating ourselves.

erm, if it's special extended then it's two towers, if it's not then fellowship. in both catagories however I would put return of the king second.

You can't go past the epicness of RotK but FotR has the whole 'innocent adventure' about it.
