the 90's really was one of the best decades but now that we are older and can see all that sucked at the time it mostly gets balanced out

Ignoring all the times you thought nitpicking spelling was a counterargument...
Huh? You left my quotes in there. No need even to source. When did I point out your spelling errors as a counterargument? Maybe I highlighted them as a backdrop to your condescension, but not as a debating tool.

Ah, Wikipedia, golden beacon of absolute truth. I love it when people source wikipedia, particularly when they're talking down to someone during a debate. So, I've looked at your "source," and I've read up on conjecture about Nirvana fallacy. This seems no more pertinent to the point we're arguing here than when I thought it was about Kurt Cobain.

3. As opposed to when major stories were completely ommitted because a company had ad time on all networks iand in all newspapers.
When did this happen in the 90's?

4. Bravehearts hilarious overacting and that Mel Gibson was playing the same character he had been his entire career up to there, Pulp Fiction having so many useless characters and plotlines, Heat being Heat.
That wasn't arbitrary at all, now was it? Are you Roger Ebert? I'll bet you are.

Remember, I said I watched Fellowship of the Ring last night. I remembered only ever liking overacting pretty boy Orlando Bloom in the trilogy. His acting was atrocious in Fellowship. Horrible, wooden, and unaided by cheesy well-meaning dialogue (said dialogue was a consistent blemish on an otherwise, overall, very enjoyable trilogy). "...Heat being Heat." Very well formed argument. Tell me, master critic, what was your favorite Heist movie of the last decade?

and this is just a small taste - if I showed you all of them, we'd be hear all day.

Are we getting the picture?
Picture gotten. You may have made some of those up; others were made when SNES was in its twilight, not exactly the best time for new games on any system. I enjoyed how you repeated games on the list, as I enjoyed how you quoted my examples and then said that I didn't use any. Also, I didn't make any s-s-stupid claims that all games are first person shooters. If you are going to insult me, could you please at least argue the points I'm making?

OutrageousEmu said:
6. Ooh, wow, it was old but it took some primitive steps towards 3D. You know what the 2000's had? Actual 3D games. You know those things that play far better than primitive games?
Now this sounds like the words of a guy who has a closed mind to anything from before his time. I bet you think Hendrix and The Ramones were hacks, too.

OutrageousEmu said:
7. Yeah, "seen", as opposed to "played", because I can name a large amount that were completely unplayable.
This isn't even an argument.

OutrageousEmu said:
8. Worse, than Hitler. You are saying Carlos Mencia is a worse person, than Hitler. You are either a Neo-Nazi or.....yeah a Neo Nazi, cause thats the only person who could think Carlos Mencia is worse than Hitler.
Well, I used to joke with my sister that her (crappy) cell phone was worse than fascism, but...

Do I really need to point out the difference between subject matter and an actual person? No, instead I'll let your little allegation go unchallenged. Although I will say, and I'm expecting to be backed up here, that Carlos Mencia is definitely un-funnier than Hitler.

Truthfully, I've never heard of the show you're describing. It sounds like a poorly advised attempt at high concept sitcom. You know, most of your examples are obscure. I wonder if you're expecting people to not be able to argue since they've never heard of it. That being said, you have your list. Sorry if you enjoy Jersey Shore or The Hills, but they are crap.

OutrageousEmu said:
Again, not an argument. There have always been nice suits. They were simply in short supply in the 80's. Again, watch Miami Vice some time.

Also, that is a shirt. Shall we source wikipedia for "shirt" and "suit?"

OutrageousEmu said:
10. You mean like taking away the freedom of speech for musicians because they "incited hatred"? The taking away of the freedom of speech of game makers? Of performers like Marilyn Manson?
Good point. The music thing you're talking about was the crusade of Tipper Gore and Joe Lieberman. It actually began in the late 80's and ultimately fizzled in the 90's. Free speech in any medium, particularly music, has always been under fire. It's just been under significantly less under fire after the victories of the 90's. Game developers were not in the same hot shit during the 90's that they may soon be in store for. See a recent Extra Credits for more details.

And you're saying profiteering is a better cause for war than a pursuit of justice?
No, I'm saying that fighting wars that may be none of our business, and fighting A WAR for profit that results in a few thousand deaths is the lesser of two evils when the alternative is a war that will outlast the "drug war" and causes death innumerable and anarchy immeasurable and creates new fundamentalist, murderous enemies every day in numerous countries around the world, while betraying the fundamental values of the nation, trampling the rights of an ethnic and religious group and gaining little to no intel to show for it.

But have a nice day anywho :)

Leaving school, watching Terminator 2 on the big screen, Soundgarden and Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. Good decade, however it was far from perfect. Much like the 80's, the only people who glamorize it are those too young to remember it all.

Samurai Jack didn't happen till the early 2000's....

Anywho, the 90's should stay dead. I want to relive the 90's on my time, not have a big, cultural rebirth of a immature, annoying decade where boybands reign supreme.
Didn't boy bands emerge and "reign supreme" as '98 came to a close? Are we forgetting about hip hop, alternative, techno (not "electronica," dammit!), trip-hop, and in some cases blues, fusion, punk and swing?

I guarantee I hate boy bands as much as anyone on here, even Mr. Emu who's been antagonizing me all day. But the trend died at the beginning of the 90's with New Kids on the Block and Milli Vanilli and re-emerged during the twilight of the decade. There was already inescapable electronic pop like the Spice Twits and Aqua, but these "musicians" were far outnumbered by the Nine Inch Nails, Dave Matthews Band's, Bjork's, Red Hot Chile Peppers's and Soundgarden's of the day until the very end of the decade and the beginning of TRL.
I suppose you're right, but I stand by my point. I'd rather move forward musically than backwards.

Over the last decade, humanity has suffered a plague far worse than The Blythe in "Dragon Age: Origins"... an ever expanding disease that made our guts torn inside our body and vomit blood, thus leading us towards an excruciating and painful death... I talking of course of the forsaken 1980's Uprising! Just because all the geeks, nerds and the Seth McFarlenes that watched too much TV and movies as kids, became the lords and masters of Hollywood, WE had to endure the most unrequired and annoying massive revival of a single decade's pop-cultural fetishes EVER! Seriouslu, who the hell needed to make a fu****** 200 million dollar blockbuster out of the bloody "Transformers"!? A bunch of toys that spawned an otherwise semi-forgotten franchise!? Who the hell needs another "Ghostbusters" movie (oh yeah, it's coming, fellas) that everyone will inevitably hate!? And was it really necessary to remember things like "Clash of the Titans", "He-Man" or even the Gobots!? Really? The Go-Bots? (On the other hand, that "G.I.Joe" movie was pretty good)... and whose fault is that? Well, mostly "Family Guy"... but also YOU, the fans!

Ok, ok, I don't really blame you. You are the one who suffered the most by this whole ordeal, you have my symphaty.

Anyhow... I'm guessing that, since this is a brand new decade, and "Beavis & Butthead" ARE in fact coming back (although, as always, NOBODY asked for that outside of the hardcore fans), the time for the "Glorious" '90 has finally come, right? I grew up in that weird decade like, presumably, many of you, and I have to tell you... if they're bringing back stuff like "Animaniacs", "Pinky and The Brain", "Freakazoid", "Darkwing Duck", "The Critic", "PowerPuff Girls", "Samurai Jack", "Johnny Bravo", or "The Simpsons" (when they used to be good, that is), I will parachute myself into an active vulcano while frolicing in midair dressed as a ballerina... and I would die the HAPPIEST death in the hystory of Joy!
Bringing back the '90 could be exciting, after all: back then, TV programming was overruled with anarchy, cartoons were awesome, anime weren't overridden with fan-service and FPS stood firmly on their PCs.... you know what? Bring the '90s back! I mean, what's the worst thing that could possibly happen? Sexual harassment in workplaces? Michael Bay directing the "Captain Planet" movie? "Seinfeld" is considered funny again? "Scre4m"?

...
......
............................
On second thought, PLEASE stay dead '90! Don't ruin MY childhood! I prefer the memory!

Your opinion on that?
You do realize everything you complained about is on Hollywood and the Entertainment Media in general, and some of us were too young to even do anything or remember anything about it right? Rocky IV, NeverEnding Story 3, Pound Puppies, Home Alone 3, Tank Girl, Judge Dredd, and Mortal Kombat are some of the movies that sucked even when they were fads.

Also, nice attempt at a quick-paced humor, unfortunately, Yahtze-esque/Nerd/Nostalgia Critic humor doesn't translate well to pen and paper.
Well in fairness none of those movies were meant to be masterpieces especially not Rocky and Judge Dredd. They are for quite a niche audience anyway.

OT: If they bring it back they bring it back there is nothing you can do to stop it. I was born in the 90s but yet I seen all the 80s stuff you brought up so it wasn't really gone for long. Even look at music like Lady Gaga taking "inspiration" from David Bowie and others. People will recycle ideas as it is hard to keep coming up with 100% original ones.

Anybody that is less that pants-shitting excited to see brand-fucking-new Beavis and Butthead episodes after 15ish years is not someone I am willing to associate with.

But wait, if you jump into the volcano and die happy... you'd be missing all the episodes of whatever it is they brought back that you were so excited for. Why would you do that to yourself?

I had to laugh about Micheal Bay directing Captain Planet.

MB: There needs to be more explosions.
Poor Lackey: Sir... the villain has just blown up three nations... what the hell do you want to do now, have him blow the world in two?
MB: (Silence)
Poor Lackey: Alright... I guess... I guess Captain Planet can fix the world in the last few minutes.

True. I wouldn't want to give up Modest Mouse, Mars Volta, Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Kings of Leon.

OH MY WORD. I would die at the awesome.

Can you imagine?

A Ska revival.

Power Rangers become more popular than anything.

An animated show as amazing as Batman: The Animated Series.

All the great games of my childhood getting brought back WITHOUT ALTERATION.

Nickelodeon shows that don't suck.

No Doubt get back together.

Disney makes movies as good as The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast again.

Dreamworks animation goes back to making awesome but underrated 2D animated movies that I love like Prince of Egypt and Spirit.

Movies where not every single thing is done in CGI.

Men in Black 3.

Hercules and Xena and the X Files and The Pretender and Buffy The Vampire Slayer are all back on the air, or inspire similar shows to carry on their legacy.

The Simpsons starts to be a good show again.

Man I loved the '90s.

(For the purposes of this nostalgia trip, we will ignore Pauly Shore, Boy Bands, Vanilla Ice and The Macarena)
