Unless the game is properly broken (e.g. door didn't trigger when it should) I'll use a walkthrough if I'm getting bored of trying to figure a puzzle out.

I only tend to use cheats after I've completed a game, to mess about or get to a certain section.

I usually only cheat when the game has been completed to have some additional fun with no gravity and unlimited SuperMegaOverpoweredBlasterCannon ammo :)

Normal difficulty should be doable for everyone with at least some past experience with similar games, if you're having trouble maybe you should tone it down to Easy?

If I've been stuck for a long time I use a walkthrough but it has to be a minimum of 3 hours searching for the answer/puzzle and still not having a slightest idea...

The only game where I've cheated to complete would be Half Life 1. Near trhe beginning when you are using the railway system, I got massive glitches and none of the gates would open, so I noclipped to the next stage. I did check a walkthrough and apparently they are meant to, and on recent play throughs it worked so yeah... unlucky I guess.

Walkthrough, every time. I haven't cheated to advance the story since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and refuse to do it again. I'm ashamed that I had to cheat to beat that game.

I suppose it depends on the definition of 'cheat'!
I usually will use a walkthrough if stuck, but tend not to use them until my second play through once I have beaten the game.
If I am stuck on something that a guide won't help with - for example - destroying the Geth guns in the last area of Overlord in the HH.....
I got royally stuck and asked my daughter's boyfriend to have a go, funny thing was he did it straight away and watching him do it, greatly helped me do it the next time I played through. So it depends on whether getting someone to do it for you but then learning through them how best to do it yourself is cheating or not? If it is, I cheated, but vowed to do better next time :)
Other than that, I don't cheat, I play.

I personally am more likely to give up than resort to cheats, I only ever use cheats if I am playing a game for 2nd time or after I finished the game just to see what they are like.
Best cheat ever was Flying Cars in GTA San Andreas, the sports cars flew faster than the fighter jets, not to mention you could slow down and smash them into the side of a wall and they didnt blow up like the planes did.

However things like buying money I see as utterly deplorable.

So.. In short. It depends.
Yes, it does depend. For example: I have a life (Even so when I played WoW) and I could not be bothered to grind enough money to buy an epic flying mount. So I bought gold.

Is it so wrong that I wanted to enjoy the game? Although after playing for about a year (And unfortunately beating every raid in Burning Crusade) I realized every aspect of the game is just a grind.

Generally, on a PC the only time I will resort to attempting to use "cheats" is if there is a glitch in the game that makes it otherwise unplayable. Walkthroughs I have no problem using for RPG's, etc, which reward you for finding minute things which you would probably never find without one.

i usually stop, take a break and come back fresh later. does wonders for stuck bits or challenging parts.

is possibly part of the reason why i always play 4 games at a time.

Walkthrough, never cheat to complete. Only for fun after the game is done.

Wow what an awesome slogan.

I only use a wee bit help from walkthroughs if there is objects ingame i cannot find..

And after finishing games once, i always go search the interwebs for easter eggs and so on, seeing if there is an excuse to play the game through once more..

I would use a walkthrough. I only use cheats if it's funny, like TF2 civilianing, or big head mode or something on some old game. Cheats don't really have a lot of presence anymore, at least not the button-input types. I miss that.

I only ever cheat to correct some bullshit the designers overlooked in the game, or to "fix" retarded time-sinks. Cases in point: Oblivion spellmaking and enchanting. I could trek all the way to the imperial city each time I wanted a new spell or enchantment, but I'm the fucking arch-mage of the guild. I shouldn't need to travel that far. Fortunately, the console is only a tilde key away.

Also in Pokemon, I shouldn't need a partner to play with 6 times over just to get all the Eevee evolutions. Just spawn 6 Eevees for me to catch and we can call it good.

I use walkthroughs occasionally, or I see how others did it on Youtube or something. I tend to just try over and over until I quit, though.

There are some things I simply need a guide/walkthrough for.

One very recent example would be the 'Traveler' achievement in Dragon Age. I visited every part of the world in my two playtgroughs and nothing unlocked. Now I've printed out a guide detailing the percentage you get for visiting all the places.

If it's a hard battle or something, then I'll just persevere.

Otherwise I'll only use a walkthrough if I'm trying to find all the secret items or something.
