For me a murderer but not the kind that movies usually show the completely crazy guy who goes apeshit killing people but the guy you never suspect the guy who plans everything out and is prepared for everything he usually kills not for need but for enjoyment and that's what's really scary because that can actually be very real

But unrealistically i say Clowns they just scare me if they're in a giant group

Oh, and dolls. Goddamnit, those things are freaking horrifying.

Also, spiders. I have arachnophobia true enough I would probably suffer a heart attack face to face with a giant one, no question.

some omnipotent force, which the protagonists are powerless to stop, victories are unclear on how effective they were and mostly just anger said force, making the protagonists' inevitable end, even more horrific.

I'm gonna have to go with... MY EX-GIRLFRIEND(too)
but yeah I picked dolls mostly because of the manaquins in fatal frame,
also because of that scene in the drew carey show were he goes crazy because of the manaquins

I always thought aliens were the most frightening, imagine something you really never have seen before, not even from this earth, something that thinks and acts completely different from us. Then imagine that creature being hostile to us. Perhaps promising to aid humanity into a golden age of progress and science, and attacking us when we lay at their feet.

Midget mutant shark-clowns who vote conservative and drive small tanks in the suburbs. Terrifying.

GHOST: No. Most vengeful ghosts are drawn to certain people in particular or associations with certain areas. Their vengefulness is usually limited, so the passerby doesn't even have to care.

ZOMBIES: Yes. Giant armies of zombies, showing the inhumanity of humanity is always freaky. Not because they look bad, but because they eat people and infect and some of them are actually fast. Everyone gives a damn about zombie hordes or we all die.

MUTANTS/MONSTERS: Not as scary as zombies, though there is a scare-factor. Thing about mutants and monsters is that the average person's a little desensitized towards outright horror-creatures. And unless explicitly said, they don't spread like zombies or have great numbers.

DOLLS: NO. No, no, no, no, no. First, I didn't like FF4 that much, so you get super bury-the-needle NO. Second...Chuckie and company are only as scary as real serial killers, because they're serial killers. Dolls are, however, not nearly as strong or as powerful as anything else here, including the clown.

CLOWNS: And I stop for a second, because I've seen Killer Klowns from Outer Space. But barring them, clowns are only scary to people afraid of clowns (the marked phobia). Either that or Pennywise, but he's clearly a monster.

A MURDERER: Can be very scary. Not as much as zombies, though, for obvious reasons.

ALIENS: Not as much as you'd think. Since we're not specifying the type, we can say that not all aliens are made of kill-you. And if they are, it may be about as scary as war, but not the horror of "I'm afraid to pass gas because a zombie will hear me.".

So, zombies win.

I want to say living and evil dolls, but after playing Fatal Frame I think ghosts might take the title...

Zombie movies always got me before I got used to them. They always seemed so hopeless. No matter how far you went, the horde would outlast you, never sleeping, always pursing your blood. They stop at nothing for your destruction, and supplies WILL eventually run out, leaving you to be slowly eaten alive by the horde as you lament your pointless struggles to stay alive.

That is what I thought I tried to sleep after watching my first zombie movie. I'm desensitized to them now, but that thought still chills me.

I'll just say Nosferatu's, Count Orlok.

Scared the shit out of me as a kid. Still feel uneasy whenever I look at him.

Demons. They aren't quite on the list, but that seems like the thing that would mess with you most. Ghosts are kinda silly and you just wait until they get bored, or, I don't know, you move away from them. Aliens are, well, probably not interested in our planet and must have squishy points you can use against them. A murderer is scary, but it's doubtful that a person will just choose you at random, so it's all in how you trust your friends/ family. Dolls are kickable. Clowns are...well yeah you have a thing there, but still squishy somewhere. Mutants are all kinds of squishy. So yes, demons, because they can take the form of any of the others to harass and malign you, and there would essentially be nothing you could do about it.

Dolls are the creepiest, and therefore, the scariest to me. One of the scariest being Chuckie. I believe that is the doll with the spiral cheeks.

I think the specimen from Killing Floor get the title scariest horror character from my point of view.

But one question is left: Do I vote now "Mutants and Monsters" or "Zombies"?

EDIT: Voted Mutants, is probably the better fitting in case of the specimen.
Damn these things creep me out.
