Interesting movie (with a reviled actor, admittedly) with video game logic?

Or fish that chew up some guys penis and spit it at the camera in 3D?

Hmmm... tough choice.

Fuck Scott Pilgrim, goddamn hipster shit, and fuck Michael Cera, fuck him and everything he stands for. He's the worst actor on this planet, and I've seen alot of terrible actors. Don't believe me? See Year One, that movie makes me want to kill kittens.

Nothing can be worse than a movie that has Michael Cera in it. Nothing.
This is my sentments, just not as aggressive. Michael Cera always plays the same exact charater, and nothing else and he doesn't even do it that well. If you want to see pretentious nerd art then scott pilgram. If you want to see mindless fun and laughable horror then piranha.
Question, what is your definition of pretentious?

Also Michal Cera is not playing the same character. Scott Pilgrim is a jackass (likeable) douchbag. Also name a Michael Cera movie where the actor had to play bass guitar songs, do wire-fu, engage in multi-man brawls, one-on-one duels and swordfights. If you can come up with another example then I'll agree that Cera is indeed playing the same role here.
Alright the movie itself isn't pretentious, but the people who clamer around it and hold it above other films are. Claiming it to be a cult classic, when its just another Michael Cera romantic comedy, with gaming refernces. Look how movie Bob flew off the handle during the Expendables review, calling anyone who saw that movie sheep and insulting people who even like the idea of the preimise. I'll adimit I haven't seen the movie yet but I prolly will and might enjoy too(I didn't care for the comics but the movie looks okay). But entertainment is subjective(I'm not calling the movie art because it doesn't look like its trying to be art just entertainment) So if someone wants to see flashy and gimmicky colors and enjoys it doesn't mean that person is stupid or a damn sheep. They're just trying to spend their money on things that they know they will like.

Oh and Cera, it may not be the same role but his emotionless face and barly aduible deliect is not something I want to see in a charater thats suppose to be unquie and out there. I don't see any reason for people to be getting stuck up there own ass about seeing a movie. When it will be completly forgotten in the next 5 years.

Scott Pilgrim, by a thousand miles. I mean, look at the name of the other movie:

Piranha

[HEADING=2]IN 3D!!1![/HEADING]

Yeah, unless the movie is a fantastic parody of all those eighties movies that where "[blank] IN 3333333333333333333DDDDDDDDDDDDDD", I don't think anyone should see it. Scott Pilgrim, on the other hand, I found to be a good movie, if you can handle a little bit of pretentiousness and artsiness.

I agree, if you care at all about the comics industry and movie industry and don't want to see it full of badly written and drawn books and movies that aim at the hipster demographic that the success of Scott Pilgrim will bring about, see Piranah.
If, on the other hand, you don't wish to see your theater awash with EVEN MORE tasteless, badly-written, dumb-as-a-box-of-hair trashy penis-in-the-camera-in-3D gorn trash, go see Scott Pilgrim instead. At least that movie has little to no chance of recouping its losses.

why is this even a question? I don't know why any sane person would spend money on Piranha 3D.

Scott Pilgrim is amazing, see it now.

If you're defending the comic book and movie industries please tell me you did not enjoy the Wolverine: Origins film.

I haven't even seen Wolverine: Origins (I loved the game, though lol). The reason I didn't is because not only do I feel they are exploiting the character too much, the stuff I read about it and previews I saw made it look like they didn't even follow the continuity from the first three X-Men films and just put whatever they could in just because it seemed cool at the time.

Oh, and I knew they would ruin Deadpool.

You wise bastard, I couldn't resist watching it.

And yeah, the only decent thing to come out of it was the game, it was strangely average in gameplay but I still loved it. Had alot of extra shit to keep me interested to.

People only seem to dislike Scott Pilgrim because they hate Michael Cera. Similar to people hating Inception just because it was written by Christopher Nolan or because they dislike Leonardo DiCaprio. Personally I would choose Scott Pilgrim first. It looks genuinely interesting instead of whatever Piranhas 3D is trying to be (funny, scary, or some idiotic combination. Doesn't matter though it's all pretty stupid.).

Here's the thing, you can like and see Piranha 3D or Scott Pilgrim vs. the World without hating other. These movies aren't mutually exculsive choices. As for what to see first, that just depends on your mood.

Piranha 3D is a movie for people that don't take themselves too seriously. I kind of wish that there were more movies like Piranha 3D being released more often in the theaters, if for no other reason then to have a nice break from all the preachy or dramatically pretenious self-important films that make up a lot of the regular releases. With Piranha 3D though, just a warning, there's a huge mass of gore and soft-core but full-on full frontal nudity. In terms of scale I'd say the movie is composed of 40% gore, 40% soft-core, and maybe 20% 1980s era creature shock moments. Dialogue is sort of minimal. In fact one supporting actresses, who's day-job is an exotic dancer, if I can recall correctly does not have any speaking lines.

Scott Pilgrim verses the World is pretty good though in the sense that it's a bit of a self-realisation moment for awkward youthful moments that endulge in a bit of escapism. However, by no means is Scott Pilgrim vs. the World a super deep or profound movie either; then again, I'll be the first to admit that I'm beyond the primary target age for the movie. It's all entertainment in the end, and both movie work for their purpose and your possible moods.

Scott Pilgrim without a doubt. Piranhas is barely a movie.
Since piranhas DON'T DO THAT. Also, why not just get the fuck out of the water?
