I think Fallout. But anyone who dos't think Portal would not make a good movie look up the movie Moon. It has only like 2 characters and is all set in one place.
I know right? When will the world finally end so we stop waiting for movies to do it, and we can actually get our post-apocalypse on?MurderousToaster said:My vote goes to Fallout. There aren't enough post-apocalyptic films these days.
Excuse me if i'm a bit in the dark about this but didn't interplay get shut down or something and sold their ip's and behtesda bought the rights to Fallout?FalloutJack said:A funny thing. Gears of War is all the more likely one, but I think Fallout would be better. That is, after Interplay and Bethesda have another fight over who owns it.
Thanks. ^_^ I can almost taste that steak and beer. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, steak and beer.Phenom828 said:Gears of War is already pretty much a movie. Plotwise I mean. However, I think that when someone actually tries to make a movie out of it, (and trust me, it will happen) I highly doubt the movie will be any good. Which is a shame, because Gears of War 2 was actually pretty excellent.
The game it's most like to make a decent move of is probably Fallout. But that would have some serious problems with plot. Just because the makers will be like:
Director #1: Who should this movie be about?
Director #2: How about a silent protagonist trying to make it in the Wasteland?
Director #1: Don't be daft, that would never work! Let's make it about the Chinese invading Alaska! A sort of "Saving private Ryan" only set in Alaska, and with Laser Rifles and Plasma Mines!
That is just what I think will happen. I think it's like Yahtzee said in Extra Punctuation: most games don't have a 'three act' schematic, so it's hard to make a decent movie out of a game. And seriously, do you want someone to come along and make a god-awful movie of a videogame franchise you LOVE?
Anyway, I voted for Fallout. So it looks like you're the winner, Your Majsety of the Sandbox.
What does that have to do with anything? I agree on your casting and then casting a young actor, but being a gamer has zero to do with who should get the role. If anything, they should get some unknow face with real potential, it would work better if the guy is unknown. Mel Gibson absolutely nailed the role, so you'd probably need to have a slightly different take on it to keep it fresh.SimuLord said:Besides, you've already got a great cast from the game itself---Liam Neeson as James and Malcolm MacDowell as President Eden. Throw in a good enough young actor to play the Lone Wanderer (got any good young male celebrities who are openly or closeted gamers?)
