Poll: Settle a Bet: Which of these games would make the best movie?

None. All video game based movies suck with the possible exception of the Tomb Raider movies and the early Resident Evil movies, and even they were mediocre at best.

I don't really see any of them making a good movie, but the most likely one is Gears of War.

I don't think it'll be good, but it might at least be entertaining.

A GoW movie would be great for some good eye-candy and popcorn munching.

A Fallout movie would need to be deliberately paced and maybe with an unclear moral and outcome a-la No Country For Old Men. Very dense and unyielding. Not a good venue for your usual summer action thriller.

A good Portal movie may be a dark sci-fi comedy thing or some sort of "Cube" like thriller thing. It would be a very difficult movie to make.

Didn't really answer the poll...but to me, Fallout would make a better movie. GoW would make a more profitable movie. Take whichever you qualify as "best" as you need it. I guess.

Assuming they would all be made in a way that would be enjoyable, I'd actually probably go with Portal. The imagery and sub textual content could be amazing, while I feel the other two would only add up to wonderful action films.

Gears of War could be decent as long as you don't let Micheal Bay anywhere near it.

I would say Portal. If done properly, the psychological aspects of it could be absolutely beautifully horrifying.

Fallout would also make a good movie if it were done right. The same applies to Gears of War, but it would have a lesser chance of being done right than Fallout would.

A funny thing. Gears of War is all the more likely one, but I think Fallout would be better. That is, after Interplay and Bethesda have
another fight over who owns it.

I think Bethesda has won that fight already.

Fallout easily, the deep storyline and awesome setting easily would make a lot more quality material than gears or portal. I would like to see a fully realized GlaDoS though, would be pretty hilarious.

Fallout wouldn't make a great movie because most of it simply wouldn't work outside of a video game.

The situation is the same for Portal, and Portal wouldn't be as interesting without the puzzles anyway.

Gears of War would make the best of the three for a movie. Fun, shooty action movies are usually pretty nice to watch, even when the story and characters aren't great.

Fallout if they did it right. Less action, more survival-based, and plenty of insane and varied situations occuring like how it is with playing the game. Some raiders, some crazed thirsty people, and certainly some ghouls and mutants to spice it up.
