I think the OP is trying to channel my ex-girlfriend. Shame on you, sir.

Question is moot, sex without love is friends with benefits, love without sex is the end of the human race. =P

Love. I don't care that I'm a virgin, sex seems kind of pointless. I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy it, but I'd rather have someone I could hold in my arms and love all my life.

Sex lasts for a short time, but love? Love will tear your heart out and leave you at a roadside, with everything own in plastic bags at your side, TEARS STREAMING DOWN YOU FACE AND A HEART BROKEN INTO TINY LITT-- uh, I mean. Sex, definitely.

If I can still masturbate I don't see the ultimatum here.
This quote ended the thread before it started, really.

Evolution has done such a good job of creating the emotion of "love" its overridden the Sex drive it appears.

I don't believe that for a second.

Love is just there because those who feel love have a higher chance of having children.
While probably true from an evolutionary point of view, does it matter for the sake of this discussion? There are plenty of people who love eachother but decide to never have children. Impotent people also feel love.

As for the decision.. It's a very silly choice. Sex without love is only fun a few times but love without sex is hard to sustain. I can't choose between never inhaling and never exhaling again either.

Having had both, I choose love...but love without sex is almost as hollow as sex without love. Love needs that level of intimacy to truly thrive.

I refute your silly unreasonable question and serve you BACON.
Yes, this man raises the real question.

You can have love and sex OR you can have BACON. Which do you choose??

Sex please, I'm British.
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this, mainly because it's sooo true!

Hell I'm British and I chose sex. I'm too bloody randy to go without sex ever again, besides in my experience it's a hell of a lot more fun.

Would picking one remove the desire for the other? If so, then there's no reason to pick sex over love.

Since I am a male, I would have to go with love because the meaning lasts longer. If I were a female though, I would choose sex, but this is a male's point of view. What? I have multiple orgasm envy. So?

Assuming in this little fantasy world, love can function perfectly within an extended period of time without sex, then yes love.

Its absolutely stupid to try to separate the two. The whole point of love is to encourage sex. At least "as a man loves a woman" love, which is what I assume you're talking about. There are plenty of people that I love who I don't have sex with - I call them friends.

Now stop trying to impose stupid-ass false dichotomies.

I'm going to sound like a dick, but I'm really surprised people favor love over sex, especially given how society (at least here in the states) seems to foster sex over love. People talk about sex more, they stress over it more, they think about it more, are more open about it. Love is in a lot of ways a taboo, so either people aren't being very honest here, they're not being very honest irl, or most of the people polled aren't from my neck of the woods.

Love can be temporary, sex is forever.

Depends on whether it has to be with the same person as well. This all powerful being presenting me with the task needs to draft me up a contract before I decide.

Love, as long as it's worked for, not guaranteed. I couldn't be given love on a plate, my paranoia wouldn't let me accept it.

hmm a lot of relationships survive without sex, i can't imagine many survive without love. So your options is so be sexually satisfied and alone or to have company and happiness with someone... who you can only hope has a low sex drive. :)

Yeah same here In the states we have sex shoved down our cake holes as soon as we're out of our mothers. Though as much as its pounded into my head I still rather have love even though i want kids I'm just to much of an old soul to just be able to bang some random girl...Hell the only reason I like sex is for the extreme amount of passion.
