It's not so much 'hunted down' as 'Let's just declare it open season', because there's no way any hunt of 4channers will ever run out of members, so we could hunt them, well, forever.

Freedom of Speech

Define freedom of speech.
pardon me here.
"you are a fucking dumpfuck asshole retartd" = "You are stupid"

According to Wittgenstein, only one of these sentences, are sentences with "sense" in them (Sorry I don't know how to translate it better, I hope you get the idea). But still according to freedom of speech I have right I can say both.

Law is not moral. (we can all agree on)
- I have right to freedom of speech and expression.
-- But if I insult someone in public I can be fined or dragged in to court.

With both things giving out the same meaning but only one of them can be seen as having "sense" in them.

So what is freedom of speech?
"you must take what you give to others"
You really want to go in to that extreme low?
There is no "low" to which I wouldn't sink in the defence of freedom.

4chan are a huge collective of millions of people. It is impossible to judge all of them based on what a group of them decide to do. Just as there's been several bad things they've done such as this DDoS attack, they've also done good-hearted things like the prevention of the Pflugerville pipe-bomb explosion, the arrest of the Canadian paedophile Chris Forcand, the arrest of several animal abusers, and the mixed but well-intentioned Scientology protests.

But they are neither good or bad. They just are. And you cannot judge all of them for one thing they do.

I've been reading this entire thread now, and I gotta say, there sure is a lot of "them" and "that site" being tossed around here.

Lets be completely honest now, folks. Over half of the folks around here at least lurk 4chan.

You keep talking about anonymous like they are different from normal people. Well newsflash, anon IS normal people.

It is what happens when people like you and me buy into a jargong. Its not the asshole of the internet, its the gym locker room of the internet.

Good luck hunting down all those people.

You missed my point there.
Communication in form of speaking is way of getting a simple and primitive message trough with different sounds, (Different languages got different sounds and different construction of sounds for specific "word")
So when I say your are "you are a fucking dumpfuck asshole retartd" All I try to say you are "you are stupid". Same message can be given out in simple words of saying "You are stupid".

But be realistic, would you honestly be ready to let me criticise all of your believes, values, morals, comment on your, personal appearance, family, friends, hobbies job. And you are not allowed to anything to me because it is my right to say them in name of freedom of speech? You honestly think this can drive humanity forward? [u/]

I completely agree!
I don't regular 4chan, I've been there once or twice, but I don't have a problem with the site or most of it's users.
The point I think the guy is trying to make is: "Should the users on 4chan who maliciously attack people be hunted down."
The answer is yes, unfortunately, the people who'd do the "Hunting" would probably be other users of 4chan...
And with that we have just entered the infinite loop of death,

BTW: If someone makes that bolded bit into some kind of GIF, I would totally use that as my avatar... I don't know how to do it though :/

Until next time escapists, <3

P.S. I've been a user on here for a while now, and I always seem to make long general statements on this site trying to use my knowledge of life and recreation in a positive way.

P.S.S. When I say "For a while now" I mean I've come to the escapist as a viewer of videos for well over a year now, but only recently have I decided to join the community as a poster in the forums... Just to clear that up.

Hm..
Well, the dangerous ones(people), I think should be hunted down and arrested. If they DDoS a government site, then they die(Figuratively). If they don't, they don't. No, I don't think the site 4chan should be shut down; it's bait in my mind. If they stay there, then they're not here.

Mate, while the US government can be one of the most inefficient things on the planet, second only to Jack Thompson at times, when we get serious, we are single minded. If Obama thought that takin' down 4chan would help his polls, I don't think there's a force on earth that would stop the sheer weight of the FBI, CIA, and whatever combination of letters the government cares to put together would bring down on 4chan.

Yes. I really will respect your freedom of speech. Even if you say incredibly stupid and offensive things. I'm doing that right now. The notion that you should be hunted down just for saying things that make me think you are almost subhuman is absolutely detestable.

They are like cockroaches.

The devalue a home and the only way too get rid of them is with a bug bomb, or in this case an internet virus.

"DISCLAIMER"
at no time did I say an actual bomb. terrorism is bad, do not blow stuff up unless you are the military or the police and you have the proper warrants and paperwork. murder is a crime and I will look down on you after you have been sent too jail.

What? No. As crazy and evil some of the shit they do is they should be allowed to co-exist with the rest of humanity and not fear being hunted. After all sometimes they do good things.
