If V.A.T.S was involved, then it would probably have to be turn-based. Even then though, I can see plenty of unfair matches.

If it's anything like the Old Fallout, no,
If it's anything like the New Fallout, no,
If it isn't like those two, then it won't feel very falloutey.

I think it would be a horible multiplayer game.
perhaps you could CO-Op over XBL but thats it.
Agreed. I don't think the split screen would go over too well...just destroys the experience. They should have something like fable, but make it so you can actually use your own characters and complete quests for them and stuff.

No,the fallout games are ment to be single player experinces.
Althogh i do see how you could have "versus" multiplayer, all you have to do is take out vats and there you go.Some other things would have to be tweaked though to make it good.
I think co-op should be there though.

I dont see VATS working in a multiplayer game really...
only way it could would be if it was like a power up or was severely crippled
But VATS stops the game. Its silly. Its not even proper Turn Base.

The multiplayer would be who can press the VATS button faster.
Never said it was a good idea XD

You could have it so, if one person turns on vats, everyone else's Vats gets turned on. but then that just adds new problems.
The only real problem with that would be when you get stuck in VATS because some one triggered it and your on the other end of the map where the most threatening thing near you is a mean looking shrub :p

Yes, but co-op only
Or maybe something more like Left4Dead that way its not really pvp but its also not apart of the story really, just a survival sort of thing with progressively harder critters. kind of like horde in GoW2

yup that's one of them :) (vicinity? but, I don't want to protect this idea any longer, Fallout would be a terrible multiplayer.)

I would see how it would work if they made a multiplayer after the last two games, turn-based and all, but I'm going to shut up now.

It would be immensely difficult to pull off a lot of the little things in Fallout. For one, in Fallout 3, at least, you had to choose what you carried carefully because of the weight limits. If multiple persons could be considered, a LOT more could be carried by specialization.
e.g. One would be an ammo carrier, another armor, another weapons, another as a miscellaneous, etc.

Also, several parts of the game would not be intimidating at all if there was more than one person, such as a fight against one or more Deathclaws. A Deathclaw can be intimidating if it's just one person. With multiple, one or two could have a Dartgun, and the others just light it up with conventional weapons. It wouldn't be difficult anymore. Or, one could go as far to say that a Dartgun would be obsolete, and with enough combined firepower, it wouldn't matter.

What I'm trying to say is: A lot of the game's charm would be lost with more than one player at a time.

If they could make it work, then yes. Although I'd prefer it if it was co-op, not versus.
Not to put you down or anything, but the trouble with that statement is that could be said of just about anything. If you could make a Madonna video game "work," it would be good. But we have to ask ourselves: Do we have the patience?

i still think a horde style MP would work well

It should have co-op only don"t call me a nerd but good role playing. and plus co-op would make it perfect for machinima. and just take vats out for Co-op less problms that way and its more realistic.

It wouldn't work very well. I say they skip multiplayer completely and expand the single player further.Although co-op could work well.
