Co-op? yes. Multiplayer versus? No, please God no.

Multiplayer is not the way to make a successful single player franchise more successful, Bioshock 2 is the perfect example of that, most people think it's OK, but sure as hell didn't buy the game because of it. The same will go for Dead Space 2 I imagine.

By de by, they should keep VATS if they had coop or party ability, it would be pretty awesome for like, clearing rooms and taking on large groups of NPC's

Also, it would be cool if there were missions you could only do through two people

AND it would be sick if the other person could load their profile and each person has a follower

GANGS!!!!

No. Why does every game need multiplayer?
Quoted for truth!

Stop fucking pandering to the multiplayer crowd anyone else remember when games had to get by on single player alone? Instead of the afterthought single player normally is these days.

The only multiplayer I could see working in Fallout is a co-op sidekick. Doesn't get to use VATS and is just a generic character like the followers (or maybe controlling a follower). It'd be interesting since wondering the wastelands can get lonely, but I wouldn't want development time lost that could have made the single-player better.

If you want Multiplayer as in Versus modes, find some other FPS game to play. Fallout is a shitty FPS game. It's a damn good RPG game though.

I can see Co-op play though, it can work in theory.
If Bestheda can figure out a way to make sure VATS is somehow usable, as in, pause the game while someone is in vats mode.
FFFFFFFFFF. IT'S NOT BETHESDA MAKING FALLOUT: NV!!!

I, as many other people, don't see that working with VATS. Even in co-op, how would it work?

Don't be silly. You're the lone wanderer. The wandering duo just doesn't sound as cool. Now stop messing with my head like that. It hurts.

Local co-op only. Fallout doesn't lend itself to versus, and online co-op would be an issue for other reasons.

Fallout doesn't NEED multiplayer. It's a game about exploration and self discovery. It works well because you step out of a situation into a new one and adapt to survive. Multiplayer would mean that not only would they have to change the play of the game, but it's time they'd take away from padding the story out and making the fantasticly epic worlds that I saw in Fallout 3. I like that they're changing the story around, but the overall gameplay should remain the same. God of War didn't change combat except new additions to make it better, Fallout should stay the same.

Also, the bad shooting and aiming and such works A)Well with the V.A.T.S. and B)Makes it more realistic since you yourself wouldn't be a hero with the best aiming in the world. Plus it makes it harder and more nerve racking when you're hiding waiting for your AP to restore so you can shoot your foe before they find your hiding spot and devour you for lunch with their bullets

If it was Co-Op, similar to Fable or Shaun Whites Snowboarding (if anyone besides me remembers that games multiplayer), it'd be cool. But if it was like your standard team deathmatch sorta stuff, I think Fallout could do without.
