I brought my 360 to college with me. But I had to eventually cut back on my game-time in order to study and keep my exams in check. I usually game to relax and vent frustration, which was nice on some days.

But overall, you know yourself best. You know your own limits.

If you don't have time for video games in college, you're doing college wrong.

I have more free time now than I did in high school.

As long as you can balance school and gaming, I say go for it. I;m pretty much at the end of my University career (well Bachelors anyway) and spent the whole timing gaming as well as working a 15-20 H workweek. yet I am still graduating with a good GPA and have made plenty of friends (some of which I even plan on seeing again). So ask yourself, are you going to be able to put aside the games and the friends to work on essays or readings? If the answer is yes, then go for it, otherwise leave it at home.

You will brings it! You needs the precious! Also, video games are a great way to bond with people and make new friends. It can even work to help you get laid. It's a conversation piece, you can bring women over to play, that way they can say that they didn't come over just to have sex. Plus, college is frustrating, you'll need an outlet. Shooting monsters in the face is vry therapeutic.

It all depends oi your study habits, if you can study while having a beautiful 360 next to you sure bring it, but if your a "Game addict" then leave it home.

I probably won't bring it. And either way, I'm getting rid of xbox live. My friends that are younger than me don't play as much as I and the older crowd do, and the people I like to play with are playing less and less (almost none now). I can't play mp games by myself.

Though you do bring up a good point. one) I own Mirror's Edge, which is the only game I have that a girl would be interested in playing. And 2) Shooting monsters in the face is very therapeutic.

You do know that you don't "need" a girlfriend just to have one. That's pointless, just arm candy used to affirm yourself to others, sucking your wallet dry before a violent break-up that just makes you really upset. Wait until the right girl comes to you.
With that out of the way, bring it. It's fun, and you're bound to have some time. Just don't let it consume your life :p

I don't know if I would bring it, but maybe I just worry to much. I just wouldn't want it to be stolen. I would just bring a gaming laptop that has Steam loaded on it and play games on that. Also would bring a hand held like a PSP or DS. But if you're not worried about that go ahead. Would be something to do when you're bored. Just don't make it a priority over work.

I'm heading off to college and as much as I love gaming I sort of want to put it on hold for a bit until I get settled in and stuff. Should i hold off on gaming for a little bit and then work it back into my usual routine. Quite honestly, I do not think I will have much time for gaming seeing as how Engineering is a shit-load of work and boy do I need a girlfriend.
me = engineering student

therefore, hopefully this will help

while i had to re adjust my time management skills and have less time relaxing, i have PLENTY of time for gaming, as long as you are good at managing your time and when to do stuff, then you should be just fine

unless your crazy and are taking like 18+ credit hours each semester

otherwise, i party on weekends, do any weekend homework on sunday, that can go anywhere from 1-4 hours to sometimes 6-7 hours on a rough weekend, but anyways time manage well and you will have plenty of time for girls + gaming

What? Don't listen to this dude. Bring your 360. The first few weeks of college can be kind of rough, and I know my xbox really made it a lot easier. You just need to learn the discipline required to not play video games when you have shit to do.
There are plenty of ways to get your head off work in college (trust me). Besides, with college comes computers and computer games to lighten up the mood, an Xbox360 will be too much of a time void. Bring it if you want, but if you want the advice of a college veteran, Dont do it!

IT WILL RUIN YOUR DEGREE, its better to miss it and get on with work than having it sat next to you whilst you are trying to type up an essay. just-like-i-am-now, the temptation to sack it all of when you have tons of work for "a quick break" is too easy.

Its better to go get a social life if your moving away anyways, if you find most of your new friends have one and you can use it as a way of gaming socially with real people then take it over. but wait till you find that out first :p

hope that helps

you shouldn't bring it at first. if you really want to play games, meet some kids and play on theirs. It will be a way to socialize and do what you like to do. You do not want to be an invert in college, it's a great time to be social and meet people. I'm assuming you'll be in a dorm? dorms are so much fun. you can meet so many girls if you just leave your door open!
yes, that's great advice haha

engineering is insane ><
don't bring it at first, just take time to explore and meet people or do other stuff

when things settle, go ahead and bring it to your room
but if it's gonna distract you from doing work/studying (I know it does for me) then make sure you have somewhere else that's better/quiet to study like the library or whatever

lol my ex-girlfriend was one reason I didn't play it as much first semester
now...well with her gone, it's just school keeping me away from gaming (can't believe the Halo Reach beta is coming out in the middle of finals x.x)

Go without it until you know the environment better and if you can handle it. If so then go ahead, just think about it before you do it.
