Well I believe that unreal tournament 3 for the playstation3 was done with keyboard/mouse capability... so if you wanted to use a bluetooth dealyo you could unlike the X-box (correct me if I'm wrong). But yeah, X-box have more things like sports games and FPSs on their software library, though they are trying to get some rpg games in there to broaden their demographic beyond 'fratboys' as Zero punctuation put it.(they announced some exclusives about the time they managed to announce the purloining of FFXIII, star ocean being the one that caught my attention)

I've had both consoles, neither really play any differently in an FPS game. It's all a moot point anyway, everyone knows the PC has the best FPS controls hands-down.

Won't lie, for FPS gaming the 360 controller just feels more natural to me. And thanks to everyone who actually tried to help me out with my dilemma. I have an HD tv with 720p so I should be able to run games/movies on the PS3 with pretty good graphics. As far as the games go I saw a few people mention that I shouldn't buy it just for one game, and I'm not. Little Big Planet is just one of the games I'm looking forward to on it. inFamous and Mirror's Edge are a couple others. Although Mirror's Edge is on the 360 too, I think I'd get it for PS3 if I had the option.

Also, FFXIII will be coming out next year hopefully, and given the choice I'd rather play that on PS3, just seems more natural :p

Ironic that the guy who said this was going to turn into a crappy thread is the one making it crappy. Why so angry fanboy?

As for the ps3, yes you do have to buy the HD cables separately (way to pimp that BLU ray player you've got in there sony!) and I'm not sure if the rumble pad is in the bundles at the moment but I think the console is just starting to come into it's own and now is the time to buy it. This coming season looks stuffed with awesome games.

I'd get the 80gig though, those 4 gig installs add up real quick.

Edit: Personally I find the 360 controller better for shooters. The triggers are, in my opinion (before anyone feels the need to point out this is just my opinion, more responsive than the r2 buttons on the ps3 pad. I find the lowered right stick fits the curl of my hand better and most of all, i hate the fact the ps3 sticks aren't indented, it just screws with my thumbs.

I'm not going to buy into that troll bait, but to suggest that the console was made for First Person Shooters was absolutely preposterous. Also, a little research proves the PS3 analog sticks MOAR responsive.

So far your contributions to the topic have been limited to; saying the thread sucks, claiming the op doesn't need a 360 and calling someone's post "retarded" and "bullshit"

I know. I had a SEGA but my grandmother gave it away without asking. But we'll get there. We only really started to get serious about it this year.

You DON'T need a 360 if you have a gaming PC. Disprove this. The thread DOES suck, because it all boils down to preference, and saying that a console's controller was custom made for FPS IS in fact retarded. Any more points I can defuse?

*applause*

Anyhow, I would say yes, but wait. Overall I've yet to hear horror stories related to the PS3, unlike the 360 which has had repeated (and documented) brickings, including one showing at E3 or one of those other game shows I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). If you're inclined for FPS stuffs, however, I would say go for a PC; no console to date has the kind of aiming capabilities that a PC delivers, on top of being 1010% more robust than a console. Otherwise, for now, the PS3 is pretty much an OK bet, even if its titles aren't as robust as the 360's.

And yes. Until later in life, a console's "backwards compatibility" is a boatload of marketing crap.

Well, you say that the only game that interests you is Little Big Planet... well, I'd advise you to just wait. Hold the credit, and keep tight with the PS2 you have. Buy some games you missed out when the PS2 was reigning king, and wait for the PS3 to start getting more games you like and become cheaper. That way, you spend less money for a console that might actually have backwards compatibility, definitely be cheaper, and so you can buy more than one game with the money you saved.

Hope this helped.

No for a long series of reasons.
1: The blue laser format thingamajig: DVDs are great as is, unless you want to see every single one of Richard Simmon's skin cells as he does a workout video you should stick with DVD.

2: Lack of decent exclusives: Everything worthwhile coming out for the ps3 is also coming out for the 360 except this little big planet thing everyone is saying is awesome but wont elaborate any details to me. Between the Wiis few good non-casual exclusives (As I have often said, Metroid prime corruption is the greatest gaming experience you will ever have untill there is a game that is just a needle fulla' endorphins" and the 360s lineup of everything else, you should be happy unless you feel like buying a console for one game that is not MP3: C.

3: If you are that anxious to get rid of your money why dont you just support the I want cash fund instead. For over a decade The I want cash fund has given me cash so I can buy those vodkas that keep me from going on a killing spree. (Everyone wins by process of elimination!)

So there you have it, your money is better spent on A wii and MP3: C so the people at retro studios can make another game, or supporting the I want cash fund so everyone wins without the process of elimination.

OK I will disprove it...

1- I hate using a keyboard and mouse for games. They are not 'TEH UB3R 1337!!!!11!!!!1!ONEONE!!!11' that everyone makes them out to be, it's sitting at a desk, typing. The only game genre that works noticeably better are RTS games and you don't really get them on 360.

2- I don't know about you but in my house the PC is used for work and internet browsing and such, I'm not the only one who does these things, so if I tried to have a gaming marathon I would be interrupted quite a bit. I have an average PC, it cost me money, alot more money than my 360 and I know for a fact that Mass Effect wouldn't work on it, which brings me to...

3- All 360 games will work on a 360 no matter when they came out with no need for costly upgrades.

4- A gaming PC is the single most nerdy thing you can own, bar none.

My final point being that you DON'T need a gaming PC if you have a 360, or a PS3, or even a Sega Megadrive.
It's all about opinions, most people have one and contrary to what you might think, quite alot of them differ from yours.

Did I say that most people had one? Name where I said it. I was simply saying for the complete Next Gen experience, minus a few games that I can count on ONE hand, you don't exactly need a 360 if you have a decent gaming PC. In no way was I saying the 360 wasn't a valid choice.

Also, to be fair, point 2 of your argument is invalid, because I stated IF you have a GAMING PC.

Then you have one freaky mutated hand my friend. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Xbox_360-only_games]
