Well I always say why limit yourself to just one gaming platform if you don't have to? I'd get a PS3 myself if there were any games on it that interested me, well that and if I could spare the cash right now. No income means no superfluous spending.

You know what. Get them both, i've never regretted owning both a PS3 and a 360. I get whatever games i want on either platform. Its nice.

Now i too used the 'excuse' of needing a blu-ray player to facilitate the purchase, just use that for yourself... and if you happen to drop 450 bucks on the exclusives you've missed out on well it jus thappens.

If you have a 360, it will only be a matter of time before you RROD, as it's held together with bubble gum and pine cones. If you do not have a 360, you can spare yourself this fate with the better made console. Also, as far as gaming technology, it's really starting to shine.

I enjoy mine quite a bit, if you have a lot of extra cash on hand then go for it, if you're strapped for cash then just buy more games.

It's a big deal on the PS3 forums. Then again, the forums are the first place sony recomends starting trouble shooting.

Yellow light = internal hardware failure.

i own an xbox 360 and if i had the money i would get a ps3 in a heartbeat, there are a lot of games that are looking attractive...

Go with what your friends have. That way, you can game together.

This and if you have the money get both, they're ups and downs but if you have them both then you can avoid the downs

Yes. You now should get one. I am seriously blown away by how good it was, and it makes me really trust in the quality the PS3 could produce.

if you have the cash then go and get it. i have an xbox but no desire to get a ps3 so far. my roommate has a ps3 but it broke down recently and the guy is to lazy to send it in. some multiplatform games like bioshock seem to run smoother on an xbox. but if i was you i´d probably get a pc, mainly because i only own a g4 powerbook, which sucks gaming wise.

I chose ps2 over xbox originally (as I'm sure most sane people did)
but I chose 360 over ps3 because of the prise, and the exclusive games microsoft had, and, until recently, haven't regretted my decision.
But now games like heavy rain are coming out and they look pretty amazing but even I have to admit, the wouldn't work on the xbox. Also my house doesn't have a blue ray player. So should I cross over to the dark side and but a ps3 as well as my xbox? Or should I save and just get all the amazing games I want for the xbox anyway???

I was in the same position and I did buy a ps3. It is a nice console but in the end I still think of my 360 as the master system and it just doesn't have that awesome feel that 360 has. I'm not completely satisfied but there are definitely games that make it worthwhile.

If you want to, go ahead. It's a matter of personal opinion, same with the idea that you even need Blueray (Honestly, I hate the HD/Blueray craze. What's wrong with standard definition!?) but it's ultimately your choice.

It's fuzzy and crap. It's the exact reason no body watched VHS tapes anymore. Hell I don't think I know anyone who still has a VHS player. Get the PS3, the games are great adn the Blu-Ray will blow your mind.

Heavy rain is basically Quick time event the movie the game. That should not be a buying incentive.
