I'm make it simple:

Reasons I don't want to go- I generally don't have any interest in going, I don't even know the girl I'm going with, I haven't done anything to prepare for it.

Reasons I feel I should go- My friends would want me to go, I have this weird feeling that I will some how disappoint the girl if I don't, I want to go to the prom house (I probably could go their even if I don't go to prom, but still).

Dude, you get to dress up in a tux and look classy. At least if you go, sneak out of it, then troll around the town and look awesome. Pick up the ladies that way.

Go, you might actually have fun with your friends.
If it really sucks no one is stopping you from leaving.

Don't let the girl down. Be a gentleman at least, also, like the above guy said, just walk around in a tux.

In my experience, proms are great because 1) everyone is feeling too loved-up to notice that you've not spoken a friendly word in the whole five-to-seven years you've been in school and 2) it's an excuse to get absolutely trolleyed and see everyone that you thought would never do so do exactly that because it's the end of school. Plus if you don't know the girl you might get to know her which is never a bad thing.

Go. Enjoy yourself. Dance like a twat to music that you don't like and make up with all the people you've ever hated because you might end up loving them. It'll be fun. I promise.

I didn't go and I don't regret it, but this is totally up to you. If you already have a date, you might as well go, though.

You may as well go. Its an excuse to dress up and not get any funny looks and you just might end up having fun.

How often do you get to dress like James Bond? How many other times in your life will you get to after? And who cares if you disappoint the girl, you barely know her. Just be all cocky and make fun of her shoes and dress the whole time, but let her know your kidding and it's all in good fun. Trust me, you'll get some.

Even if you think you dont wanna go now, its something that only happens once in your life and what do you lose by going?

I would be disappointed if I were the girl. She's depending on you, and plus you two could hit it off... if you don't hit it off you could dance with someone else! And what the hell is a "prom house"? I have never in my life heard that term before today...

If your not interested then don't go. I didn't go and had the 2nd greatest night of my life because I didn't.

Trust me, most people that say "I wouldn't have fun if I went" enjoy themselves when they go. And you aren't even at that level of pessimism :p

If I were going, I'd get a fake moustache, a top hat, and a monocle.
i remember me and my buddy got orange and baby blue tuxes (a la Dumb and Dumber) canes, hats and shoes. it was perfect. the fake mustache is a nice touch though.

Go.

All you have to loose is one evening, otherwise you may end up regretting it for a very long time.
