If you plan to meet him also, HIGHLY ADVISED its a Public venue/place, for safety reasons.

STORY TIME!

Same situation, I met a guy via internet, talked for months, went to visit him one day @ a shopping center (was only a 40mins drive) but turns out he was hoping I'd come back to his house to be a sex toy of his. So now I have immense trust issues with some people over the net.

I would still try to get him to appear on a webcam juuuuusst to be sure. Even if its just once. But going to see him with you parents does seem like a good and sensible idea. Hopefully everything will turn out okay and you'll laugh about all this later.

Wow. It's a miracle anyone ever leaves their house in a culture like this one. Almost everybody on this page and the last one says "VIDEO CHAT OR HE'S A PEDOPHILE." Am I really the only person here who advocates anything other than blanket dramatic incapacitating fear? If people aren't allowed to experience life until they turn 18 and sometimes not even then, it's not just their fault that they grow up as entitled little pricks. Seriously, if he's old enough to even be considering the safety concerns on his own, then he's probably old enough to make a decision without everyone here telling him that taking any risk at all is the same as diving into a pedophile's bed. I'm clearly one of the extreme minority of people who are actually willing to trust Musclepunch to make his own decision here.

Edit: Okay, I'll be fair. There are at least a few of you who aren't going all Admiral Ackbar on the poor kid.

to me there are 2 kinds. Pedophiles who have sex with people under the age 14 either through force or consent but only if they themselves are over 25. No i don't think its appropriate is a 21 year old has sex with a 14 year old its just once you reach a certain age i think specific ages should be off limits. I can't date a girl who isn't 20. I just can't. And the other form is those who force sex on children. I mean anywhere from 5-12. Then i guess there are those who would do an even unholier act to even younger people. the first group Jail would serve fine. Second and third group should be castrated with a rusty knife before being executed. Even if it is an illness i don't care.
I like how you have all these neat age groups, you've really thought this through! If only the world could fit into such neat categories.

I do not like (even ironically so) the last two sentences in your post. It's highly offensive to anyone who struggles with pedophilia. And it's highly offensive to anyone believing in... well, humanity. anyone at all.

I support you, but that's what I was trying to avoid having an argument about in open forum since this thread is about Musclepunch's decision rather than pedophilia, but rest assured I've been filling Donnyp's ear via PMs about why that's such an incredibly offensive statement and encouraging him not to be so blatantly capricious and arbitrary from now on. It probably won't work, but I still couldn't just let that comment pass without saying something.

Duly noted. (And thanks, it's not to know you're not the crazy one)

OP, sorry for the thread hijack. To sum up, I think you should meet him; life won't hold any fun if you're going to go around being scared of everything that -might- go wrong, and believe the worst about everyone. Just take measures to meet him safely, your parents being the obvious choice here, and you should be fine. Have fun. Also, enjoy Norway, please.

I have been talking to a boy a year older than me from Norway. We've been talking for 3 years now.
I met him online on a game called Puzzle pirates, I have him on facebook and msn so I've seen pictures of him. He refuses to go on web cam and speak on XBL because of his accent. I've wanted to go to Norway for a long time before I knew him. So when I finally go there should I meet him with my parents, or wait 10/15 years so if he's a paedophile he'll be about 60 and I'll be 25 so I can fight him off? I'm 14 nearly 15 and he's nearly 16.

EDIT:Bit of background Info..... I speak to a friend of his also, (who I met before him) I also googled his fathers name and got his address and it is a genuine house. He's on some school photos and football team photos and has 200 or so friends, he wasn't the one who instigated this and one time I was ill off school I appeared offline on msn all day and he wasn't on it once. And obviously I'd go with my parents. (How else would I afford it :p)
Quick question:

IF he is NOT willing to speak with you through a microphone because of his accent, how the hell will you communicate? :p

But it is a big question, I would have personally preferred to speak with a person before I met him/her. But thats my opinion.

Well if you've never spoken to or seen him yes go meet him IF you enjoy gratuitous ass rape that is. Pictures can be faked so can addresses and the frends could be him in diciuse.

So Video chat or GTFO!

I'm sure his friend isn't him as he has a youtube video series I helped him to translate into English with him all over it, I think he Just doesn't want to go on webcam because of his weight (Not being funny but he's pretty big) The other weird thing is he doesn't want me to go on webcam either.

Webcam or no dice. SERIOUSLY Webcam webcam webcam. And bring your parents when you go to meet him after first talking to him on webcam no matter how embarrassing they might be.

I'm against it regardless, but the fact he hasn't even shown himself to you on webcam or spoken to you or anything should be an incentive not to visit him. Pictures and Facebook accounts could be conceivably faked.

As someone that's gone across the world for someone else, I'd advise you definitely not to, especially at your age.
Do it because you want to (traveling), not to be with another. If you are planning on something like that for yourself, see another person as a bonus, but not the main prize or reason. And definitely wait until you have the following:
A passport
A visa (try a working holiday)
And of course your own money to fall back on.
When it comes to Norway, same as Sweden, think of taking language lessons before you get here. Trust me, you need it. Pretty much everyone speaks English, but if you want a chance of getting a job while you're here, you'll always be at the bottom of the pile unless you can speak the language.

I'd say he sounds like a suspicious guy. Don't be one of those gullible people who you read about in the news, the kind who say "He seemed so trustworthy. It seemed to be okay".
