Damn, sorry man, that sounds horrific. I would sue, since they should be punished for supplying the drug without it being accurately tested.

But seriously, make sure you can draw a clear link between the drug and your condition, or the lawsuit will get you zilch.

Actually I'm going to second the recommendation for homeopathic treatment. The major advantage of that route is that homeopathic remedies have no side effects at all, so you have basically nothing to lose by trying them. Given what you just went through with the Accutaine, I'd say its definitely worth a shot.

In response to your original question, you should look to join a class action suit. All you would have to do is add your name onto the suit, which means minimal effort for you and there wont be extra litigation clogging up the court system. It should be really easy to find one to join, since every tort lawyer in the country is probably soliciting clients right now.

In fact, what the hell: Here's one [http://accutane.poweradvocates.com/] to get you started. Good luck.

It's not frivolous if it's fucked you up. I say shitting blood is enough fuck-uppery for a lawsuit.
It's not a stupid lawsuit like the woman who sued because her coffee was hot.

Sue the drugcompany, but be well prepared, get a second opinion and advise from legal counsil before actual filing suit. The doctor is most likely blameless anyway
Since they fucked you so bad you had to have a camera be put up your bum, do the same to their bankaccounts. This isn't like finding a hair in your hamburger, this is your body we are talking about. Go full out once you choose to do so

get a second opinion first and if you decide to pursue it, go for compensation of the expenses incurred from the issues caused by the drug.

Oh come on, you already know the answer to your own question and know what you are going to do, why do you need strangers validating your choice?

Since this product is actually causing you serious bodily harm, I wouldn't call this a frivolous lawsuit. However, to build your case, you might want to check if this was listed as a possible "rare" side effect in this product's adds or on the product's packaging.

I really don't like frivolous lawsuits either, but from what you've told us, this is anything but frivolous. Sue the buggers for compensation, this is what class action lawsuits are intended for. (At least, I assume it's a class action lawsuit. I'm not an American, so I haven't been involved in at least three trials before age 6 (I kid, I kid), so I don't know all the terminology.)

I would seek legal advice to see if you have a case, the only thing I would say is that medical and pharmaceutical companies have a huge amount of influence and power in the industry.

Cases are all about who has the best legal representatives, That unfortunately is most likely going to be the drug company. My brother deals with this sort of thing, he deals with people to see if they have a legal case to appeal after their initial cliam/dispute was defetaed or thrown out illegally/wrongfully.

I hear all sorts of stories about how people have been wronged. My brother once had to deal with a guy who's mother had died, she said in her will she wanted the inheritence and the estate to go to her son. His ex however hired a really good lawyer, the lawyer found one technicality in the will and his ex's got the house. Messed up I know but thats what cases are like. If your going up against pharmaceutical companies you probably don't stand a chance.

Thats terrible I know, but pharmaceutical companies invest Billions into new drugs, there is no way in hell they will let you win because if you do it adds strength to anyone else wanting to claim against them (that drug) in the future.

They have no side effect because there IS NOTHING TO HAVE SIDE EFFECTS FROM. Unless you're diabetic I guess since most of it is sugar water and the rest is plain water.

Does the medicine have any side-effect warnings ?

(But, you know, that sounds more like an EFFECT than a side-effect.

I'd like to say I was on Accutane for 8 months and it worked very well. Chapped lips were the most serious side effect I had. Well, that and getting my blood checked monthly to monitor my cholesterol.

but if that condition is a direct result of the drug, then yes, you should probably receive some sort of compensation for the pain and suffering.

They tried to help you, they didn't purposefully make you ill.

Don't be a dick and sue people when they were trying to help you, even if they did get it wrong.
If his doctor didn't inform him of the possible dangers, that's negligence. Suing over that isn't being a dick.

If a company willingly distributes a product that is known to have major risks it's their own damn fault when they get slapped with lawsuits and forced to recall so sue away as it sounds like they fucked you over pretty hard

Just check w/ your doctor first to make sure they caused it

Get a second opinion first. Have another doctor look into it. If he says that the other doctor has done something wrong that has resulted in this not going away, or in fact being the reason as to why it happened, then sue.

However, there is a possibility that you can be blamed for it all, and so I suggest that you do heavy research on the matter before even thinking about suing.

If it legitimately affects your life to the point where you are in constant pain and stress from your affliction, you should absolutely do it. Chances are you will be able to receive some sort of settlement.

I had a similar situation a while back involving my job and a particular interviewer that decided to ask me what my religion was during the interview. I still got the job and I love working for the company so all I did was request that the person be reprimanded. He was and life went on.

Your situation isn't as forgiving. I would suggest taking some sort of action.
