Depends, Sonic has sort of gotten a new lease of life on those gimicky Wii games, like Olympics and Smash Bro's. And those games are fun, but that's probably more due to a lack of story. But I know my 6 year old cousin is a fan of Sonic now through them.

As for the actual main stream games. Well. They've realised that 3D sucks with Sonic and they put more 2D enviroments but that didn't work. They tried getting rid of as many of the neon woodland forest animals that tag along but that hasn't worked.

They've been doing a lot of stuff that hasn't worked (goose that layed the golden egg story) so I'd just suggest they either go back to the original idea's e.g fast hedgohog does 2D platform adventures, or accept that Sonic don't work no more.

Also, get proper writers for story and dialogue!

Man STFU. Don't insult people who play Nintendo just because you don't. I agree, if Nintendo got it they would probably pump out a few probably horrible games, but that gives you no right to say people would buy it like shit. I am a Nintendo fan, and that doesn't give me a right to say that about the people who play xbox or ps1,2&3.
Actually the only next-gen console I own is a Wii. I also own a DS. I just think that it's the height of irony that a bunch of Nintendo fanboys are in here saying "lulz Sonic sux" when Nintendo's been doing the exact same thing to its franchises for just as long, but has it hailed as genius just because it's Nintendo.
Yeah, I see what your saying, but Nintendo is only ruining... I can't think of a game series of the top off my head, but they are doing good on their main games, LoZ, Mario, I guess they kinda screwed Metroid Prime 3, but their new metroid looks amazing. Now Sega however, only has one game series worth looking at now, and that's Sonic, which is losing it's edge rapidly.

Nope, Sega is still making money from every game, and they will not stop until that well is dry, which will not happen for a while.
Sega is the biggest videogame whorer. You would know the weight of that word because I almost never use it.

I am going to be honest. The daytime levels in Sonic Unleashed were the best Sonic experience I had since getting Sonic 2 for my Mega Drive as a young un' and playing it for days on end afterwards.

The rest of the game... well, the least said about those "were-hog" levels, the better.

I disagree. I haven't had the urge to play a LoZ game since Link to the Past (I played a little of OOT and it bored me to tears, same with Wind Waker), and every Mario game for consoles since 64 has been a desperate attempt to cling to 64's success. Honestly, I don't see what the difference is between the Super Mario of the month and the latest Sonic game. They're both boring, generic platformers with a few silly gimmicks that tend to take more away from the game than they add.

And as I mentioned earlier, Sega owns the Total War franchise now, and I think that's their new star attraction.

I think Mario wins the whoring award.

In my opinion its dead...dead dead dead dead dead. When was the last time that they ever really made a decent sonic game? I mean cmon, they have to be losing money on this...So why keep making them when everyone is telling them to just let it go?
It's not SEGA who's responsible for the shit quality. It's Sonic Team.

Well, we obviously have different game tastes. Every Zelda game has been pure genius, I don't like a few of them *cough* Link's adventure *cough*, but it's still a good game. I can honestly say that I liked Mario In space or whatever. The camera was gay but it's still a good platformer. I don't consider Super Paper Mario a game it sucked that bad, same with sunshine. You are correct about those sucking. Now on to your strange dislike of LoZ OOT. What the hell. Both of the N64 LoZ games were amazing, almost anyone can tell you that about at least Ocarina of Time (I know people hate Majora's Mask for some reason.) Also Wind Waker is one of those games where you love it or it's one of the most terrible games you've ever played. I loved the game, but a lot of people don't.

I'm not saying that the games are unlikeable, I'm just saying I don't see the difference between the newest iteration of Sonic and the newest iteration of Mario. Neither suit my fancy, but I wouldn't call either of them inherently worse than the other.
