Actually drinking anykind of red wine HELPS your heart and digestive track and white wine has a few benefit's it self and as for beer
beer poisons the liver a little bit but the liver takes care of that so no harm done
and smoking cigarettes hurts your lungs by everything that's in it including tar and paint
weed on the other hand also hurts your lungs but isn't as bad as cigarettes

It shouldn't be banned outright, but it should have the bujeezis taxed out of it (I think it already does). I say double the taxes and outlaw smoking in public areas.

Tax the crap out of it, and make it illegal in public places, but for the main point, no, let them kill themselves with their really disgusting habit, just raise smoking-awareness in schools with the money you tax it from and pretty soon it'll become a very small luxury that only the dumb rich people will do.

The problem is that whether or not something is legal doesn't matter, if people want to do something then they'll find a way to do it, so no smoking should not be illegal nor should any other drug.

1. I don't suffocate
2. My hair and clothes don't smell
3. The douchefuck smokers can take their shit outside and freeze to death for all I care

Well, given my breathing problems, I really don't like it when people smoke in public. I don't really care that they smoke, they're free to slowly kill themselves in whatever manner they wish, I just really don't want to be near it.
Tax it heavier maybe. Or restrict it to certain areas when out in public.

Well, if we are thinking along the lines of the US, the government can't really limit what one does, according to the Constitution, specially with the 10th Amendment ("Any rights not listed in the Constitution (i.e. smoking) are given to the people and cannot be limited by the government.") So, basically, we can't do anything about it. I think people who smoke should just have the common decency to not smoke around other people who do not smoke.

It is as Jesus once said in a Penny Arcade comic: "Don't be a dick."

I say smoking should be banned in public places to protect us who are sensitive to the second hand smoke seriously just a short exposure sends me into an asma attack
however I feel ppl should be allowed to smoke in certain areas if you want to smoke in your home or certian bars go right ahead and do it

Yes, it should be made illegal. But it simply can't be. Because its a under the right of the people. The government cant take it away without crossing some very bad territory and if they get the power to take away such things and Cigs, we are risking giving them power that would ultimately be mis-used to remove other "choices".

I want Cigs, gone but it just cannot be done with the current Rights we have in Canada and America.

i dont like that response. let them kill themselves like they wont affect you at all. but where im from most of these smokers with probably get sick at some point and take up a hospital bed, cost the healthcare system money which is paid by my taxes. so it does affect me.

They should just leave it, the taxes on it are already ridiculous enough. Though it is not as bad as I heard it was elsewhere.

Also Smoking dangers are very over exaggerated especially second hand smoke.

Not to say that it isn't bad for your health it is, but the stigma against gets tiring. I say as long as smokers learn to be courtesy around non smokers and Vice-Versa we could all learn to live and let live.

I can quietly give myself cancer, and non-smokers can quietly go bug a heroin addict or something.

Ff yougotta ban smokin then you gotta ban alcohol. Why not sugar at the same time as its also highly addictive. Lets ban sex too, its very addictive and according to christians will lead to eternal hellfire.

when I say petty I mean not important, fun maybe but you won't die by not smoking weed. Like Warcraft. It Is petty and you won't die from not playing.
The way i see it; it's enjoyable, people enjoy it's effects. People weigh up risk of getting caught (insignificant) and the repercussions of getting caught (negligible vs reward of an enjoyable night, and they decide to take the risk.

Not dissimilar from people choosing to cross roads when the lights are green, they decide if the risk of getting hit by that car 600 yards away is worth the reward of not having to stand around like a moron waiting for it to go by.

Now, normally, I would say that it's only hurting you...But then you've got second hand smoke issues. I can't say I'm very happy when I see people puffing their lifespan away, but when they're forcing it on others, that's actually a considerable problem.

So just not in public areas? Well, I'd still say let it be over and done with. The stuff's got not upside that couldn't be replicated in some other medium. People want a rush of nicotine, there are better ways than getting lung-cancer with it.

Honestly, it might as well be with all the restrictions that have been placed on it and all the unreasonable and excessive sin taxes placed on it.

I smoked for right about 15 years. I still wouldnt say that ive entirely quit even though ive not had one since august. (longest quitting stretch was 6 months) But even as a non smoker, the way most non smokers treat smokers is disgusting.

I do get it, there is no good reason to smoke. It just wastes money. But regardless of the reasons not to , theres no reason for the government to step in and say, no you shouldnt be doing this and we will make you pay for it if you dont listen to us, and for people to show their attitude by condemning people for doing it.
