I always though Fallout was about the 'American way of life' and the 'American dream.' Not sure if it would fit in with a European version.

But bring on a post-apocalyptic Melbourne/Sydney!
Well the original Fallout was conceived as 'Mad Max meets the Wild West', so Fallout:Australia has already happened. It's called Mad Max.

I'd love to have a Fallout: England just to see what happened to my home country, but I think the most interesting would be taking it to the other side of the war and going to China and Japan.

The problem is 1950's Europe pretty much still looked like it was after WWII, some parts of London and Newcastle didnt get fully repaired until the 1970's. Never mind the poverty we had,Europe never had the same glitsy cliche 50's as you yanks did

How about setting it 50 years after Fallout 2 in Arroyo, see how things have progressed, meet new people, see old faces, continue storylines, y'know, 'sequel to Fallout 2' type things.
Fuck no.
Arroyo and all that mystic bullshit was the worst thing ever to happen to the Fallout universe.
Tribals, sure, but not magic, visions, mystery temples, etc.
That shit has no place in Fallout and should be forgotten.

You know next to nothing about Canada if you think our country is filled with snow.

I agree though I think it should be set in Canada.

I think a fallout game in canada would be good. Set in ontario with toronto being the main area and the games map going down as far as negaria falls and into buffalo usa. but thats what i think

I want to see a different location in fallout. Not the desert or D.C. ruins I think like Alaska would be cool. But a game in europe would be sick.

I would like to see something set in the Midwest (being from there) since we've had the West Coast, the Southwest, and some East Coast already. Something in the Pacific Northwest and/or Alaska (maybe bridging through Canada) might be good too. Different parts of the US carry (and have traditionally carried) slightly different cultural norms and styles, even in the '50s.

Chicago, particularly, and other cities like it in the Midwest (since Chicago was probably leveled completely) had thriving gangs and organized crime which could have 'mutated' over time into a very interesting landscape - and the Great Lakes are in that region to give the "big body of water" - which I mention because it seems a big body of water is something Fallout landscapers like to make a focal point.

Personally I want it to keep an American main character (perhaps exploring other countries to find something) because Fallout is just an American game to me, every time it has been in the US as far as I'm aware.
To play in Japan as some Asian guy (by nationality) would just be weird.

A Fallout game in Europe was planned as a spin-off, called Fallout : Resource Wars.
In the background, the European Commission went to war with the Middle East over oil prices.

Would it work? Sure, absolutely. But it would be a huge departure from the basis of Fallout, keeping pretty much only "Post-Apoc Action-RPG", and probably wouldn't sit well with a lot of fans.

Part of me thinks it should stay in America, but another part of me would love to see London in fallout.
London would be my first choice, Paris second. Yes I hope this does happen.

What about a setting where some of the American Fallout factions goes over to Britain to look for other colonies?
It would still have the American feeling but placed in London for example.

Ok, so the main argument against it being set elsewhere is that american culture is too deeply-rooted in the fallout experience to be removed and still have the same game.

But american culture has found its way everywhere. I think an outsider's perspective could be fresh and interesting, but still feel a lot like Fallout.

One idea, that maybe those of you who know about this sort of thing could fix up and improve, would be to set it in Japan.

You could have the samurai reborn! Gangs who wish to reclaim Japan as their own, travelling the wasteland with armour and katanas.

Or you could have younger gangs, binge-drinking nuka cola, wearing baseball caps and using guns to assert their power.

See what I mean? It can be all about American culture, without being in America.
