Poll: Should the Halo series be continued?

Well they will make something with the name Halo on it because it's instant moneybags. Didn't they set it up so there could be, in theory, like seven games? Or something? I don't know.

Hmmmm... Well, I loved the Elites. Why not have a game based around them and their warrior code? The thousands of wars they must have fought against the aliens upon all the worlds they have searched for a sign of the Forerunners?
Why not a game where you can customise your Elites armour and weaponry, like a hack and slasher or a third-person view? It could focus on close combat, coz lets face it, the Plasma Sword is the coolest weapon in Halo. You could choose from a wide variety of melee weapons like Energy Pikes and custom blades, hammers, and why not a Plasma Bow or something? As well as hand shields, special armour and Forerunner tech reverse-engineered. You could explore and conquer dozens of planets within systems, get beamed down to a possible piece of Forerunner tech and fight your way through the planet's inhabitants, forced to swallow the orders of the Prophets, no matter the cost.

You see now THATS the kind of thing I was thinking (and hoping) people would post rather than just "Let it die Let it die Let it die" over and over again.

The whole 'fight your way through the planets inhabitants' thing would be utter awesome.

You see humans fight aliens in games/movies all the time, but how often do you see aliens fight other aliens?

I don't want to see it continued. As much as I insult Halo I actually do enjoy the games and honestly there's nothing left to tell.

I'd give it two or three more main games before wanting it to quit. I don't want Halo to be the Mario of FPSs, but I think the story should end on a better note.

I was just thinking as I was voting in the poll:

"I wonder how many people voted to end the series that have either never played Halo, are a PC gamer or just hate halo altogether"

The poll should be restricted to people who actually liked and played halo so the answers are at least varied a bit more...

I wouldnt be suprised if the Halo fans outright saying they dont want any more Halo games wouldnt be saying that if Bungie were still completely in charge...if that makes sense...

There is plenty of room for a fun new Halo game in its uncharted universe, I wish people would stop seeming to assume that nothing can come out of it other than regenerating health and power armoured soldiers killing aliens, just because its what we've gotten before.

If you seriously think that Halo will ever be about something other then power armoured soldiers killing aliens then you are kidding yourself.

For better or for worse, that's what the series is. That's what sells. That's what will be made.

I wish even more that people everywhere would stop saying "let it die with dignity" all the time. If Halo dies thats a lot of potential for expansion and creation down the drain.

lol i had a chuckle at this.

ot: after seeing that like 8 minute clip i would not mind seeing a halo movie in that style of film, as it was pretty fuckin sweet.

however, anything else though, i think im done with for now, i love the books to death, about to re read reach actually, and i am playing reach alot, but i think its hit a bump now where it needs to step down.

I love the Halo universe. While I have yet to play Reach, I've played all of the others more times than I can count. I've read most of the books, watched Halo Legends a few times and I've just been completely enamored in the universe of Halo for a long time.

Given that, I think the series should end. The games are fun as hell, but it came from Bungie. Bungie's style of game design and the personality they put into a game is hard to match. Halo Wars was a great game, but it never truly felt like Halo (yeah, RTS, I know...).

The series will keep going, but I doubt it'll ever be as good again.

no, i think bungie did an EXCELLENT job wrapping up the series by returning to the beginning. its almost, poetic. any further extensions will start to look a lot like george lucas.

Reach was Bungie's loving farewell to the Halo Universe and I think it should be left alone as it has gone out on a high.

I am sure you noticed COD geting worse, what with being so long in the run.
Bungie stopped while they were ahead. And i agree halo has droned on too long. Still it's good but

The Halo series was awesome, it would be cool if they made it longer, but its dead. Reach is better than all of them and an awesome way to pack up the series but now the makers need to go on to other games.
