Sure, at some point in time. Might as well start now cause by the time they're finished all the player of tf2 will have grown old and died.

make a good game, keep improving on it. why keep making sequals? the game is almost perfection, if you want to add things thats fine, just do it through DLC.

Oh and Team Fortress one was Team Fortress Classic (hence no TF1).
Wrong. The original Team Fortress is just "Team Fortress".
(Incidentally, it was the first FPS I ever played over the Internet. This was 13 years ago.)
TF was an incredible game and so it got a remake by the name of Team Fortress Classic on the GoldSrc engine. There is also a later remake called Fortress Forever on the Source engine.
Team Fortress 2 is a radically consolized, slower, simpler offshoot. Pretty, but plays quite differently from the others, and has a far lower skill cap. Even nubs like me can do decently in TF2.

Not yet, maybe when they've made a better engine and have made Half-Life 3, but first they should come up with HL2:ep3 (or some HL2 spinoff)...
What do you call the episodes besides spinoffs?

Valve was going to give free dlc to us console players but! microsoft said it they were going to make us pay for it. so valve is going to make one big dlc when all the class updates are done. (from wikipedia)

this actually brings up a good point... I don't remember a TF1...???

Then again, I've NEVER been a fan of Valves, so perhaps I just missed it in between playing rounds of Battlefield and The Sims.
Team Fortress started off as a mod on the quake engine.. they then made a version on the original half life engine called Team fortress which was then re-released as Team fortress Classic..(which is still availble from steam).. im glad they waited this long for TF2 as they cudnt have done what they have done with it now if theyy made it 8 years ago....
i say hell no to TF3.. i would break down to tears as it would tell me directly that valve is yet another sell out company... they still have lots of updating to finish on tf2.. i dont believe valve wud break two promises ... first L4D and now TF2... no way..

Would be nice to put in another Orange Box type game along with the rest of Half-Life series so I can play it on a console.

I'd rather have them do HL episode 3, and give us poor 360 gamers some of the gooey updates that the glorified PC gamers get.

Yes..... in about six years or so.

Making a TF3 now would needlessly split up the online communities, causing detriment for both games. That's the main reason I'm not too happy about L4D2, even though everyone's jumping on the "gamers only want free dlc, cheapass pirates" bandvagn, but let's not open that can o' worms in this thread.

See, the thing is, in both these games, the focus is heavily on the multiplayer - heck, TF2 ONLY has multiplayer. If they make a sequel now, some people will buy it and play it, while others won't or can't, resulting in a rift in the community as not many people will play both at once, instead preferring one over the other for whatever reason. For a game so heavily focused on multiplayer, that's very detrimental.

Eventually. The question is vague. The current format is popular and enjoyable, and has serious staying factor due to all of the upgrades; many different classes still have yet to receieve thier overhaul.

Ideally, I'd like it after Episode 3.

They finish making Episode 3, finish updating all the classes, and then when they and everyone else gets bored with it sure. I could see myself playing this game for quite a few years more so it could be a while.

Time to update the Xbox 360 version for once, 'ey Valve? I don't like having a limited amount of maps, lag issues and other problems to contend with, especially since you are so prone to updating the PC version endlessly to keep it nice and sparkly. If they can't be bothered to update the console versions then a 3rd installment may bring some fresh and original content into the brilliant multiplayer game. Either that or please do something with the 360 version Valve, I recently received an update and I noticed no differences at all, not even in lag issues. Sure, you can simply say "then buy the PC version you stuck up ass" but then I'd have to buy a PC that will run the damn thing. I know they're a PC based company but then again they bothered to release a console version; perhaps they shouldn't have if they weren't going to touch it again.

Besides I thought Valve were already busy sucking the whole Zombie trend dry, which is probably why TF2 has been left in the dust.
