Remember "Insects in Space" (which was surprisingly ok considering the main character had hypnotic bouncing boobs) and "Custer's Revenge"? *shudders...*

Nudity's been around for almost as long as drug abuse (Pacman).
I looked up Custer's Revenge once. Never doing that again. Although there was (I think) a screenshot of it in the RoJo ENN video.

I'm still waiting for the general public to stop separating video games from other medium. And for some wierd reason here in America, "Sex = BAD" while "violence = okay" (in Japan, it's the opposite).
Dude, when it comes to videogames, sex in Japan isn't "ok", it's MANDATORY. Plus it doesn't count unless it involves cephalopods.

...What? WHAT? Why are you all staring at me...?
Okay, you get mad props for that. It gave me a pretty good laugh.

Wait...Cephalopods...My hold on biology is not as good as my hold on chemistry...but are you talking about tentacle sex?
Ahem-ahem-ahem-ahem-ahem-ahem*mightbe...*ahem-ahem-ahem. Cough.

After all, Mass Effect was obviously being played by 10 year-olds for the sex simulator.

Really? The decidedly demur 'sex' scene in Mass Effect, in which nothing more gratuitous than a bare butt cheek is shown, seems like a lot of work for little payoff. In a world of easy access porn on the internet and late-night 'infomercials' for Girls-Gone-Wild DVDs, there are much easier and less time consuming ways to see some boobage (in comparison to sinking 20+ hours into a game for a 30 second payoff).

the first game i ever saw tits in was afro samurai, then almost every m rated game i played from thereafter. now i know theres been partial nudity before, but its only been in the recent year or two that ive actually seen full blown nudity. Now i dont have a problem with it, but its weird that people dont really get pissed at this, but they do get pissed at things that are less severe. what do you think?
it's funny that you've even brought it up, seen as you've named yourself after a rapist!

If the game is rated Mature, so underage people can't get their hands on it. I see no problem at all, given the amount of violence in games and the way you can kill people why does a pair of breasts bother you?

I really dont see a point in being bothered by this at all.

Ironically, a lot of my older PC games have loads of nudity (and no, not even hentai games). It was much more recently that nudity started disappearing from games.

Finally - consider this. The first thing most newborn babies see in their lives is a knocker thrust in their face so what is so wrong with looking at them later on in life? Bloody hypocrites! ;-)

I highlighted the main reason for this argument. Well the main reason I think it is. As they are a child they don't understand but once you become old enough to understand and form a like or dislike for nudity of a certain sex it becomes not ok until you are legally old enough to perform said act in said country.

I really want to slap these twatholes around the face with raw bacon when they appear on TV crying because the game THEY BOUGHT for THEIR kids "was not suitable".

That would be the absolute greatest photobomb ever. Some TV news station is interviewing disgruntled and 'knowledgeable' parents over their holiday shopping for videogames. And just as one is about to get on their soapbox and start to rant about how aweful game 'X' is (cause they heard it from a friend of a friend, they've never actually played it). Then some angry stranger walks up and BAM! Raw bacon to the face, and walks away...

To a point. I have no issue with nudity in videogames - as long as it isn't the main focus of the game or thrown in as a form of sex appeal. If its part of a plot-related scene (a la Mass Effect/2) that's perfectly fine. But the use in The Saboteur (as a means of advertisement for the game) was a little tasteless.

The first game I saw it in was the godfather 2. The only other game I have seen it in is mafia 2 (although this was real)

I am not really bothered TBH, I can take it or leave it.

It's been here for years now, since long before I was born. I don't really care for it since it's only pixels so I don't go round looking for it or downloading mods to see some pixel porn, but if it's there then it's there.

Just dont drop the bacon. Wasting bacon is a capital offence (in my mind) and is punishable by up to three weeks on a vegetarian diet. Harsh I know but someone's got to make a stand!

I was actually using that in a sarcastic manner. Fox News had called Mass Effect a sex simulator when, just as you said, there's so much game compared to that 30 second scene saying so is just plain stupid.

It's funny that they point out Mass Effect when there are games out there much worse that actually ARE sex simulators. But as I said before, Sex and nudity is looked upon gracefully in other media and frowned upon in games. Reminds me a lot of what people used to think of Rock; which gives me great hope for games.

I am pretty unhappy with the casual use of nudity in video games lately. I watched my little brother download the Demo for Mafia 2 and then within five minutes of playing the demo he found the PlayBoy magazine that they offer in the very first room of the game. Not only that, but after leaving the nude page quickly in confusion he was promised that this was a collectible item that could be found again later in the demo.

I just don't see why nudity is necessary in such an accessible thing such as a demo, and I find this a severe case. Nudity definitely has its place in video games. But nudity has been awkwardly and naively used for too long in these triple-A titles.

When was the last time you saw sexuality and nudity in a video game where it seemed appropriate for the game and it's broad audience? Bayonetta had it's audience pretty figured out. But a demo for Mafia 2? Now you are just being silly.
Wait, you don't mind violence in a game with an 18+ rating, but nudity isn't. How old is your brother? If he's younger than 18 why is blasting people to bits ok but boobs are scary?

....Are you American?

Back when games were "just for kids" yes, they did. Especially when they hid cheat codes into games like Crash Bandicoot. That was totally wrong.

But let's face it, video games took off in the late 1970's to early 1980's. The original "kids" who were being fought for are full adults and have no desire to give up their favorite pastime.

So now they have a rating system. I don't expect to see sexually explicit scenes in games like Spyro or Barney, but in the adult ones like Fable, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age, why not? Mind you I appreciate it more for being a part of the story than for fan-service and hope many games STAY that way, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing when presented well.

(Oh, um, your poll implies I would want to see other women's breasts if I think sex in a game can be good. Please no? But I suppose this is the 3rd option, still...)
