Female. (Technically. It's complicated)

Size 0, in my understanding, Equates to size 6 where I live.

And that's pretty damn tiny. I don't think it's a good ideal for anyone to aim for unless you are in fact quite small to begin with.

By point of comparison, the national average here is size 14 (working back to US sizes, that's size 8 or so.)

And personally? I'm really quite skinny as it is. Sure, I could lose more weight, though mostly at the risk of going into territory that can only be considered anorexic...

But even if I did, I still wouldn't be able to fit into a size 6 (the local equivalent to size 0, in case you've forgotten), ever.

My skeleton by itself would probably limit me to at least size 8 even if I was scarily underweight.

It would look horrible, and I still wouldn't be small enough to fit something like that.

Impossible goals are not worth worrying about, and really, even if it were possible, what's the point?

Would I actually look better? Or is it just some stupid 'ideal' that nobody ever thinks about?

lazy
if they want to they can
ummmm good on them for getting to their goal (why they would want that i have no idea)
attractive? no, they look like they would break if i hug them. I dont want to be with a woman who I'm constantly scared of hurting (ok its unlikely that would happen, but its what goes through my head.) Women are suposed to have curves.

Some girls can look good as a size zero. Same goes for every nearly every size, I know a girl who is a size 16 yet most agree she is gorgeous. As for men, I don't believe size zero is a good size for any of man, but, everyone has different tastes. So, to the point, size zero is no more attractive than anything else (like I voted) though it does get too much positive attention in the media, the most attractive girl I know is a size ten and I'd have no one other than her.

I've yet to find a girl who can successfully ovulate at size 0. Or climb stairs.
You need to join some sports clubs Root.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make (badly) is that size is an arbitrary number. It doesn't dictate (to me at least) any scale of attractiveness or health. It's how that body fits together that matters. 5feet 2 and size 0 is different to 6feet and size 0.

My size 000 friend is that dress size because she's tiny anyway and pounds along running every day, she can climb plenty of stairs, she's just small. She doesn't look like a skeleton either.

Female.
No.
I'm happy as I am.
I pity them. I really do feel bad for them.
More pity.
Not really. That's what makes it sadder.

Male or female? Female

Are you trying to achieve size zero? No

Why/Why not? I don't think I'd ever make it. I like food, and I couldn't handle forcing myself to throw up in order to lose weight (because simple dieting wouldn't be enough I bet - currently a size 7 and have been in and around that size for a good 7 years.)

What's your view of others trying to achieve size zero? I think they're really insecure about themselves, really shallow, and too focused on their appearance. Women are beautiful when they have curves!

What's your view of others who have achieved size zero? A mix between feeling bad for them, feeling slightly disgusted, and jealousy. Maybe. I would love to look good in skinny jeans, but knees that are bigger than the calves? Jutting elbows? Ew.

And most importantly, is size zero actually attractive? No, not at all. I feel somewhere between a 4 and an 8 is most attractive, depending on the woman. Some can pull off the larger sizes REALLY well, and still look great. But when people wear tight clothes and their fat hangs over the top? No. Just, no.

Wow, now I feel really shallow.

Are you trying to achieve size zero? Definatly not
Why/Why not? I'm a pretty muscular guy, and a lot of people notice it, so getting that thin just isnt what I want.
What's your view of others trying to achieve size zero? Honestly, if someone wants to achieve size zero, than its fine with me because I dont want to tell people what to do, but they cant expect me to find them attractive in any way.
What's your view of others who have achieved size zero? Good for them if that was their goal, but again its just unattractive for me and it probably is not healthy.
And most importantly, is size zero actually attractive? I'm really the wrong person to ask, mainly because I'm on the other side of the scale, I like girls who are chubby or plump because I like their full bodies and great tits and ass... size zero isnt strictly a turnoff for me, but they just cant have the same volume of ass and tits as a plus sized girl.

HAHAHA...no
I want an athletic body (working on it...), not a thin one...eww
Pff, they can do what they like and hopefully they'll find a partner who likes that thing.
Same as above really.
Not saying a skinny girl can't be pretty, but I like curves, and a size zero has no curves.

I needed a picture to see what size zero meant, and now I can say, ewww.
If a girl looks healthy she is attractive. Healthy can mean a range of things, but size zero on a girl without a very small frame is gross.

Male or female? - Female
Are you trying to achieve size zero? - No.
Why/Why not? - I like having hips, boobs and a bum.
What's your view of others trying to achieve size zero? - I think they are genuinely stupid.
What's your view of others who have achieved size zero? - I think they are also genuinely stupid and need to get a big mac down their neck.
And most importantly, is size zero actually attractive? - No. nononono. the london fashion week proved that it's not. They had UK size 10/12 models modelling some of the clothes and jaws literally hit the floor.

Male or female? male

.

Are you trying to achieve size zero? no

.

Why/Why not? Because I can already fit in it. Yes I am a dude, and yes I can fit into 0 girl skinny jeans pretty easy, it's really not an amazing feat. Though they are kinda tightish. I normally just wear 1's.

.

What's your view of others trying to achieve size zero?I support people being their natural body size. If they are naturally skinny(like me) then I encourage them to be naturally skinny. If they are bigger, then they should be bigger. However, i do not support people being overweight or obese, nobody is naturally fat like that.

.

What's your view of others who have achieved size zero?Ummm.. I disapprove of the word achieve. It's not(well, it shouldn't be) a goal, the goal should be to be healthy.

.

And most importantly, is size zero actually attractive? If the person is naturally like that, and they are an attractive person, then yes.

So, having to do research on size zero and its representation in the media, I thought it might be quite interesting to see how the public views it. So, members of the Escapist, you are now the public... All of it! Admittedly, up-scaling the public out of the community of a game website may be a bad idea but I don't see the harm in a little investigation.

You aren't doing represention research for English Language A levels by any chance?

OT: No, I don't find size zero attractive. The notion that men like excessive/obsessive dieting and skinniness is ridiculous, we generally like 'modest' curves if anything. I generally find that women seem to grow in real physical attractiveness in proportion to how much I like them. Looks really only influence lasting impressions very slightly even if they do decide first impressions to a degree.
Trying to achieve size zero is a waste of time and potentially dangerous. I dont really bother with watching my weight... recenlty ive gotten slightly chubbier which i find disconcerting but also kinda preferable to how stick-thin i was not so long ago. Ive always eaten a lot but its only recently started affecting me more. I feel healthier and there's no way im slimming for some idiotic goal.

No.
I'd never be able to achieve size zero, even if I wanted to. XD
I think that it's unhleathy.
It looks unhealthy, and I'm pretty certain that there are health risks involved.
I don't find size zero attractive at all for several reasons. One, my current gf is a size 2, and she's fine. I'm a big guy. I'm 6'0" and 220 pounds of linebacker-built, weight lifting manliness. If I were to hug a girl that's size zero, she might snap in half. XD

Unless the girl is naturally that thin, then it's kinda gross. I mean bones are on the inside for a reason, right?

1). Male.
2). Nope.
3). I'm just not. I workout a lot, run a lot but don't do it to achieve a smaller size. I do it for strength, power, stamina etc.

4). If other people want to do it, even if they risk their health then so be it. It's their choice.
5). I view people who have achieved size 0 as...for a lack of a better word...grotesque. I also think that risking your health for achieving such a look is very silly.
6). No. I would much rather have a girlfriend with 'love handles' than a size 0 one.

Are you trying to achieve size zero? - No

Why/Why not? - I don't like tight pants or having to stay on a diet.

What's your view of others trying to achieve size zero? - I think their stupid, usually with an eating disorder and a beauty complex.

What's your view of others who have achieved size zero? - I congratulate them for not having to buy little girl's cloths anymore. Everyone I know who is a size 0 hates it and wants to gain weight, none starved themselves to it. Or in the case of my cousin, she was 13 and wanted to buy juniors cloths, when she got older she had to buy bigger cloths she didn't try to stay at a 0.

And most importantly, is size zero actually attractive? - Depends if their at a healthy weight. People who starve themselves to get into a 0, no. People who are just small, yes.
