Well, following a fair bit of speculation on another forum about this DLC (And a lengthy argument on if it'd be better or not to simply use mods on PC), Bethesda has released the trailer for the second DLC for Skyrim, Hearthfire. Here's the trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGritiUTSig&feature=g-all-u

And Trivia: Hearthfire is the Elder Scrolls version of September, while the DLC drops in September... hmm.

I'm hoping it's cheaper then Dawnguard (less then 800 points, please?), and I'll probably get it when I'm getting MS Points to buy Mass Effect 3's new DLC packs and when I finally buy Dragon age 2 stuff.

But what price do you want this to be?

(PS: Sorry to all the PC owners who won't see this for a while, and for the PS3 owners still waiting for Dawnguard. You have my sympathies).

(PPS: first time I'm creating one of these, so please point out of I forgot anything).

It doesn't look all that impressive, hoping for "under 560 points" for this piece of DLC. I did however chuckle at the thought that now the dovahkiin's greatest challenge is keeping the rodents out of his house.

Sounds like it will be nice for the console players.

Though any PC player should avoid it if they have half a brain.

I.. I don't know if I want this or not. I mean, yeah, what's the point? A DLC just to make your own house and start a family? Big deal.

But I guess people like that I suppose. And the dead enemies trophy thing is kidna cool I guess.

Probably won't get this though.

I dont care, I am getting it no matter what. I want it for the achievements, building a house looks fun and I want to create a character and name him Fagin and see if I can create a army of child thieves =D

Yeah, I think I'll be passing on this one. If I wanted to build a house and start a family, I would play The Sims instead.

Can I get a translation into big boy dollars? That doesn't seem worth more than $5, but since they charged twice as much for Dawnguard than they did for all the FO3 expansions I wouldn't be surprised if this was $10.

Well they already announced the price to be 400 Microsoft points and release on xbox September 4th.

As for me I might pick it up when it comes to the pc, even though there are mods that do the same the official product is higher quality than mods and I support the developer.

Have you even looked at the housing mods that are available?

Bethesda bringing back Oblivion's small DLC style...

This is bullshit.

Uhm while this is pleasant for the more in-depth role-playing players, RPG players like me woulda kinda be disappointed in this DLC. To elaborate on my play-style I value more character-driven choices than worldly activities.

From my view-point its nice to have a little mansion to have everything easily accessible. Personally I never really bothered with any much potion/poison making since gathering and keeping the ingredients were a weight hassle (It is easier to find profitable loot then buy ingredients or just the frigging potions themselves).

Already been said but for PC players this literally gives virtually nothing of value. All these features can be modded-in and its doesn't seem to have much else going for it besides these Role-playing points.

But this is just from the given trailer, maybe the actually DLC has more to it than what was shown. IF not at least for PC players it seems to be the Horse Armor equivalent (Ok not entirely but just a extreme point to show perspective).

That actually looks pretty damn cool.

Establishing a home was the most fun I had with Skyrim. If I were still playing I would buy this DLC in a flash.

Finally a proper house to store all my trophies in. All the vanilla houses aren't up to the task of displaying them all. Every room will be a for trophies.

Bethesda is pushing out a simple DLC to get out of the 30-day timed exclusivity contract with Microsoft.

I've glanced at them, not really interested in the whole build a house thing, thats why I said I might buy it. If I feel like building my own house though, then I'll buy what Bethesda made.

Well this looks like the most boring DLC ever.

I play Skyrim to adventure and discover new amazing fantasy lands, not to run a household. I run a household in my real life.

Definitely a pass on this. It just doesn't appeal to me at all. Skyrim's DLC is 0 for 2 so far for me.
