I am horrible with first person games on PC. I have a great gaming PC that I do get a lot of use out of for things like SC2, Dark Spore, Total War games, etc but most "action" games I end up getting for my 360. For instance, I know it's a shame but i'm getting Deus Ex Human Revolution for my 360 instead of PC because I just suck using mouse and keyboard in first person. My aim and reaction time is just awful. And I will probably end up doing the same thing for skyrim.

Does anyone know if xbox 360 controller support will be baked into either of these games for PC (that is, skyrim and human revolution)? I'm not talking about like configuring my controller to execute keyboard commands, I'm talking like baked in as Alpha Protocol for PC had...
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is game pad enabled. The quality of it is impossible to speculate but it will be there.

I'm not sure about Skyrim, but judging by previous TES games, even if it is, it probably isn't worth using.

Wow I didn't know DE:HR was going to be game pad enabled. That is actually great news. I'll probably get it for PC now. And maybe I'll just take the chance on Skyrim for PC also. I did play through Oblivion on PC without too many problems although I still feel like I will suck worse at it with mouse and keyboard than I will controller, it might just be time to bite the bullet and go PC with these games since I'm sure they will be appreciably better on PC...

thanks

PC. Mods, fixing the broken stuff. It is a BethSoft game there is going to be lots of broken shit. Buy it on XBOX and you are stuck with the bugs that they will NEVER fix.

PC, better controls for an RPG, also, better graphics. Also, MODS.
I would say, not trying to get a debtate, but better controls for RPGs, a bit much. Sort of varies.

Just wanted to say that. :D

User created mods tend to suck.
Uh, no they don't. For Oblivion, a total conversion just came out that some people say is better than the actual game. Then there are mods that add entire countries with towns and quests, there's a dragon mount mod, some that re-balance combat and get rid of level scaling, a few that add detail and style to the environments, and of course all the custom equipment, etc.

OT: I think it should be obvious by now.

PC, I'm building a new computer and it should be finished by the time Skyrim is released so it will be the first game I play on it. Also... MODS XD

PC. If you have a gaming PC it should be the default. If your PC can't handle it then get it on console, PS3s are I think better at loading textures and stuff so I think it should run better on the PS3 than the Xbox shouldn't it? Anyway PC>PS3>Xbox.

Admittedly I know NOTHING about consoles other than that they are ruining games. (Just kidding...) (...or am I?)

If your rig can run it decently, definitely get it for PC. Even if you aren't interested in user created content, Bethesda games, because of their enormous size and scope, tend to be riddled with a host of small bugs, especially scripting errors. Those errors typically result in some items that can never be acquired, or quests than can never be satisfactorily completed. If you have the game on a console you have no choice but to wait for a patch that may or may not fix the issue. If you have the game on the PC however it's usually a simple matter to edit files, input a few commands, or download one of the many available mods that fix these issues.

Whether a game is better on Xbox or PS3 typically depends on how much effort the developers put into each version. Though the PS3 is technically superior, it's also supposedly more troublesome to develop for. I think in the past Bethesda's games have looked better on the 360 than on the PS3, at least I'm fairly certain that was the case for Fallout 3, though I'm unsure whether one version ran or played better. Usually it isn't difficult to find a decent comparison with a quick google search.

Don't just leave us Ps3 players out in the cold. We have chocolate and free online.

Anyway, Pc would be best course of action, if you're into mods and all that jazz.

PC for the mods. Plus I have found playing Oblivion on the PC much easier than playing on the xbox 360 and I assume it would be much the same with the PC edition of Skyrim

Even if 90% of the mods suck, there's still 1000+ mods in less than a year for Bethesda titles. 100 good mods in a year sounds worth it to me.

Oh no you didn't.

Way to out of contextualize there. What did I say underneath? Here's a paraphrase;

I said that it takes years for good mods to be released. How old is Oblivion now? 3? 4 years old? My point was just proven. Read the whole post next time.

None of the above. I had it pre-ordered, called and cancelled mine yesterday because of the whole Bethesda suing Mojang thing. I know my $60 won't make any difference to them, but it's the principle of the matter.

I would absolutely get it for PC if you can. Mods, mainly, would be the big deal-maker. And access to the console can never hurt if you're just screwing around in the game rather than trying to play it seriously.

But if your computer couldn't run Skyrim smoothly/at all, go for the Xbox version.

You're talking about shit you know nothing about.
When the toolkit was released, mods came like a tidal wave.
Sure, at first, it was mostly minor balance tweaks and such, but bigger and more extensive mods came fairly quickly.
Same thing as with Fallout 3 and NV when the GECK was released.
Modders now have extensive experience, know-how, techniques and ideas cultivated over years of modding in similar environments.
Mods for Skyrim will come quickly, and they will be good.
Going by past experiences, I can pretty much guarantee it.
