Sly 2 was the first game i ever picked up for my first console ever.
2 and 3 are by far my favorite games for the PS2. they just nailed the stealth in that game perfectly. i really hope they make a 4 one. if the day comes that they announce it,
i will definitely pre order it

So, we can always hope. And pray...And if not, we can always grab out torches and pitchforks.

On a serious note, I once did send an email asking about exactly that, Sly 4.
The answerI got (I actually got an answer surpsisingly): "Maybe".

..never been so pissed. :p
Torches and pitchforks sounds rather serious to me.
Poor attempt to be funny aside, I've heard of both, but know next to nothing about the Sly series. It looked like a Jak and Dex or Ratchet and clank kind of game, R&C being the only series I've played.
Kind of funny that you say that because in Ratchet and Clank 3 for the Ps2 in the opening
menu before you press start if you press down all the trigger buttons you get a demo for Sly2
The same is reversed in Sly 2

EDIT : You have to press them all down simultaneously

Sly Cooper was badass.

It was platforming, but with stealth.

And not just stealth, GOOD STEALTH.

Also, that cane.

Wow nostalgia.
i still own sly 1 and now have the urge to play it

Frankly, this isn't a fair comparison.

Crash showed up as a mascot for the PlayStation. Sly Cooper showed up as just a great game for the Playstation 2.

Personally, the comparison I have always asked was what they preferred:
Jak & Daxter
Ratchet & Clank
Sly Cooper

or a combination of sorts. Personally (and unscientifically) I have found that Jak stands alone, but that people who like Ratchet tend to not like Sly and vice versa. I am in that category. I liked the Jak series and loved Sly Cooper but found all the Ratchet games irritating.

Really? Have to give that a try.
Also in R&C 2's opening main, Ratchet play's games on his TV including R&C, R&C2, J&D and another game that might be from the Sly series.

I've heard about both, but misclicked =(
I've played the Sly Cooper games, but only one Crash Bandicoot game (I don't remember which, but it was on the PS1).

I like both of 'em, and Sly could understand. I only got it because it was kind of old and really cheap.
But who hasn't heard of Crash? I mean, he's still got games coming out. They suck, but he's still around.

Weren't there three Slys? And avoid the fourth Jak on PS2. It wasn't made by the group that made the original trilogy and thus it sucks.

I think there were three, yes, though I've only played the first one. For Jak 4, do you mean Jak Combat Racing, or Lost Frontier? I haven't played either of those.

I haven't played all the games, but I like all three series (J/D, R/C and Sly). I played Jak and Daxter, and most of Jak 2 and Jak 3. 2 and 3 are totally different from 1. Still really good, but it is kind of weird that they are in the same series.

I've only played the first 2 Ratchet games, and Sly 1. Need to play the rest of them at some point.

On the original topic, I've heard of both. Sly 1, at least, is awesome, but I never really got into Crash Bandicoot. I played the first two games on PS1. They were OK, but I didn't have any interest in playing more.

yes there are 3 in total but i could only find 2 and 3 on sale .. so i never played part 1 and by jak 4 you mean jak X ... with racing ... i thought it looked weird.

I've heard of both, and seen gameplay and so on of both, but just never had enough interest to try them myself. I didn't have a PSX back when Crash came out, and was big, so I never really thought to play it because of that. And I just never tried Sly Cooper at all for basically no reason other than I just didn't want to put money into a rental back then.

I love the Sly Cooper series. They WERE my childhood. Along sided Ratchet and Clank. Now I remember how damn frustrating the first game of each series was. Never tried out Crash Bandicoot though.

A "Sly 4" easter egg? I noticed the little logo of Sly's face on Cole's back pack and the trophy "You're so Sly" for collecting all the Dead Drops in the Historic District. but I wouldn't call them hint of Sly 4 (Unless I missed something else too.) InFamous also used alot of Sly skill set to get around like spire jump and rail sliding which I loved.

It's to bad that some people have never heard of either of these game series. Sly Cooper is in my personal opinion one the best trilogies of games on the PS2. I remember going over to friend's house and playing Crash Bandicoot 2 and having a lot of fun playing it together.
