Poll: Smoking, attractive or disgusting?

let's see, it smells like burning shit, makes your teeth yellow, is very addictive, and gives you cancer. I struggle to understand how anyone CAN find that attractive.

How much of his second-hand smoke do you really think is getting into your system, if he lives in a separate suite, on a separate floor?

Dissipation of particulate into an open gaseous medium would prevent more than a few parts per TRILLION from ever getting to you, which would be such a staggeringly small exposure as to be completely ignorable.

Now, do you often leave your windows open during the day, while cars drive by? You're in more danger of lung damage from vehicle exhaust particulate than a single smoker's fumes in another suite, simply because there WAY MORE volume of car exhaust being produced than there is second-hand smoke produced by your neighbour.

All that dissipation and stuff... Not so much caring about my system, as my sanity. I'm getting the stench 3-4 times a day. Even at night. Too annoying.

Reiterating the multiplication table, it is +32C here. And I live on the 5th floor, in a city, some 100m from nearest "big" road. And there's a huge tree right in front of my windows.

I know a few women that think smoking is sexy. I assume they are talking about the act itself. The results of smoking are undeniably disgusting. So yes, it is sexy, but you could just as easily be smoking a rolled up piece of paper and achieve the same effect, without needing to destroy your health, smell bad, or leave a permanent scent on all your belongings.

Except that smoking a rolled up piece of paper wouldn't be half as enjoyable.

Not to you as the smoker, no. But to the amorous onlooker, what's the difference?

My family is full of smokers, so I tolerate it, but I myself never want to smoke. I find it to be a turn-off.

Nothing attractive about it. Not at all. Disgusting habit that automatically shuts you off from almost half of the world just on account of being seen doing it, or so it seems. Would love nothing more than to be quit of this crappy habit for good.

Its the only (legal)product in existence which when used correctly actively harms the user, I think its stupid and disgusting and I find it amazing that even today when we know exactly what it does to your body and how big the risks are associated with it that people still start smoking.

Seeing as how MANY of my friends smoke, and it's really a way to relieve stress (usually at work) and not for the "cool" factor, I don't really have a problem with it, unless they smoke in my car. Then bitches gonna die.

But yea, I don't smoke as it's just damn expensive and unhealthy, but I have no problem with others smoking around me. Not a turn-off or turn-on, really.

depends on what your smoking lol... but personally I'm a social smoker ill smoke tobacco rolled or a pipe I've never understood why people say its addictive I've smoked a pack a day at one point and quit cold turkey because my new girlfriend didn't like it I never felt any cravings or anything same with weed. but back to the actual question ya its disgusting at least tobacco if your not a smoker a smoker tastes like shit and it doesn't smell great either but weed is another story my last girlfriend didn't smoke but she loved the smell ever time I'd smoke she was all over me. any one else see anything like this? o and I love the smell too

... I don't know a single female weeder who I like. At all. Tried dating one; and it just pissed me off. I also haven't met a single one whose personality didn't irk me severely. In fact; ANY weeder; male or female; just pisses me off.

As far as smoking; I used to be a chain smoker; I quit for my girl and for my future. If I see someone doing it; it doesn't bother me; it's just a trait. Like people who suck their thumbs or are constantly drinking coffee, or are fat. >_>
All 3 can be unattractive; but the right person might like it.

I don't smoke cigarettes, but some of my friends do. They're courteous about it and I'm not a douchebag about it, so it's fine. I don't like to be in a room with people smoking cigarettes, though, unless they're smoking cloves. And I don't like to kiss anyone who smokes cigarettes because smoking gives people ass-breath.

I don't have much of a problem with smokers, the only times I don't like them is if they blow it in my face, try to get me to smoke, or smoke in an enclosed space like a car on a long journey.

On that last point I hate it especially if it's cold, my father and sister both smoked on a 2 hour journey in the middle of winter and forced me to freeze my ass off, I wasn't getting anything out of it so why should I have to deal with that?

Fast food?

When used properly though, fast food is only harmful when its the only source of nutrition. It's not harmful if you only eat it on a semi regular basis. Whereas smoking is harmful from the very first drag.

I absolutely hate smoking, and if I smell the stuff I feel sick, it also kind of tells me that there is a bit of a lack of self-control in a certain person,so that is yet another turn off. Disgusting.
