It's fucking awesome. No, seriously though, I smoke and have no illusions of coolness when it comes to smoking either. In the future I'll quit but for now I enjoy it. Simple as that.
I'm sorry. But judging from your post I highly doubt you will succeed in quitting. As usual with smokers who say that they're going to quit, "but not now".

If you want to smoke, that's fine, but don't make me smoke with you. We have a rule that smokers must stand 10 feet away from the entrances of buildings for a reason, but as soon as it starts raining, they all pile in under the itty bitty awning, so all of the smoke hits you in the face when you come in or out of the building. Nobody forced you to smoke, it's your choice, so get a damn umbrella and move away from the door and stop whining about how it's "unfair" when they tell you to move away from the door.

to be blunt i could care less of who smokes or not, but they arent going to get any point in my book thats for sure. Neither do i see it uncool its a choice then an adiction thats hard to get out off so i cant say that i blame them but if they want to keep smoking wel i want them to die

I smoked for a short while and the reason wasnt because I thought it was cool. The reason was because I was chronically depressed and as a result was experiancing constant self loathing. Because of this I wanted a way to gradually destroy myself. My experiances with cigarrettes have had nothing to do with being cool. Then again thats just me.

i don't smoke... but its a fact that people that smoke looks "cooler" think in all of your favorite characters, comics, movies, games, i know its fiction but they are that way because we(wanted or not) perceived them as cool... so... unless your favorite character is jesus or a robot they may not smoke(bender does)

As for the thread: Depends on whether or not you find cancer, smelling like sewage, looking 20 years older and unwashed and dying horribly 10 years earlier is cool.

Personally I think the plague is cooler than smoking, but hey...
smelling like sewage?
unwashed?
looking 20 years older?

I think the first two go hand in hand, you don't wash you smell bad... but i don't think smoking has ever stopped anyone from washing... and smoking doesnt make you look unwashed either to be honest.

And as for 20 years older, sign me up for looking 40 geez! Might mean I can get a job as "being old=getting good job" even if they are grossly underskilled... the ass-hats of employment for you! And then it would stop the getting ID'd everywhere I go.

I think the looking 20 years older clinches it, time for me to pick up smoking!

Bleh. As much as I'd love to cough up a lung, smell like crap, taste like crap, have yellow teeth, and have constant cravings....

I think I'll pass on that one.

Depends, I find smoking to be an interesting character trait in fiction. It doesn't make a character uncool if they don't smoke, it does however make a character very cool if they sit in a dark corner with smoke curling around in the low light.

In my own comic work tons of characters smoke because man can you do fun things with it in the artwork.

You should add the option "I don't care".

Personally, It depends on the person's choice. If he wants to smoke even if he knows the risks of smoking. Let him smoke. Vice-Versa.

Note* I say the word risk, because the word danger means "likely" death. Risk is actually more accurate.
If you don't care, don't vote.
Personally I say uncool.
Actually, I didn't.

in another point... when i see a really pretty pretty girl smoke... that is kind of a turn off to me... in one or two dates this has happen to me... everything is doing well, we walk out the(movies, dinner, party) and as we are going to my car she put a cigarette in her mouth and thats all for me :S.
I don't like the smell and i really really hate the people that smoke just because everybody else is doing it

Why does it matter if it's cool or not? I smoke becasue I enjoy it, I don't do anything to be 'cool' and people who do piss me off. I'm sorry us smokers wont live long enough to become senile and dangerously stupid social parasites (btw I would never become so old that I'd have to be cared for by others, I find that to be extremely pathetic, I have enough decency to kill myself before I become that old). And please don't get on about 'causing cancer', it increases the likelihood. While that likelihood is substantial, people can smoke their entire lives and are fine while some 'I'm so afraid of my potential non-existence (death) that I want to impede others freedoms to do what they want' idiot gets lung cancer at 20 and dies in a couple years.

I don't smoke indoors, and next time you want to complain to me about smoking outside I'll point at the massive bus spewing it's exhaust in your face, then ram that tail pipe up your ass. How can you seriously get all pissy about breathing in a tiny bit of smoke outside, you know how much is fucking required to start killing cells in your lungs/throat? A tiny diluted breath of it wont do any more harm than the job you work at where you breath in all sorts of dangerous chemicals or all the shit you spew into the air via your car every day for the last however many years...

Anti-smoking people piss me off, especially with the pictures they force on my cig packs. I'm a grad student, I don't need to see over and over how badly cigarettes can ruin your lungs. I fucking know that already! I accept the risks willingly that this will likely shorten my life span! Anti-smoking people are just as annoying as pro-life morons shoving giant dead baby posters in my face.

hehehehehe the wiki says that if you smoke can mess whit your penis.

Erectile Dysfunction

Smoking is linked to erectile dysfunction, also known as male impotence. The incidence of this is approximately 85% higher in male smokers compared to non-smokers.

Semen

There is increasing evidence that the harmful products of tobacco smoking kill sperm cells. Therefore, some governments require manufacturers to put warnings on packets. Smoking tobacco increases intake of cadmium, because the tobacco plant absorbs the metal. Cadmium, being chemically similar to zinc, may replace zinc in the DNA polymerase, which plays a critical role in sperm production. Zinc replaced by cadmium in DNA polymerase can be particularly damaging to the testes.
