Christ, I hate Cliff Richard, what a moron. In the 70s and 80s bands like Wizard, Slade and Wham etc. created Christmas songs that stayed true to their glam rock roots and when The Darkness wrote Christmas Time I hoped it would start a trend of modern rock bands writing modern rock Christmas songs about Christmas, but sadly notTrivun said:Oh yes, definitely. 'Christmas Time' was rock, but it was also about Christmas, so it was epic in several ways. We had a great song that people loved and it deserved to be No. 1 that Christmas because it was a genuinely good song, that was specifically about Christmas. If only more bands would take that route, like, songs that are good anyway and in a good style, yet still about the festive period. Instead of the cheesy Cliff Richard style crap that some people have been trying to get to No. 1 this year...
Why thank you, Charizard painted gray. I shall not forget this compliment.Tekyro said:No, for you and your avatar are too awesome.HUBILUB said:Well, I was wrong. This wasn't as pointless as the L4D2 boycott.

Pure truth, I don't really like Xmas songs.jpoon said:Good job everyone who supported Rage! Christmas music sucks ass anyways, I'd much rather listen to Rage than some faggoty bullshit from X-Factor.
The X Factor came from the Idol series. UK music mogul Simon Cowell did the first Idol show here in good old Blighty, Pop Idol, based on earlier Simon Fuller show Popstars. Cowell then took Pop Idol to the USA where he renamed it American Idol, sold the rights to various other countries, and replaced the original UK version with a similar talent show called The X Factor. More recently he created Britain's Got Talent which is a similar show, but for all talents (not just singing) where the prize was money and a chance to appear in the annual Royal Variety Performance in front of the Queen. Other countries now do the same, but with a monetary prize instead.DiscoveryOne said:Its a song that I havent heard in awhile.. mostly because I kind of went through my RATM phase in middle school and never listened to them as much as I did around then...
I have no idea what X Factor is, Google pretty much tells me its like American Idol sort of show, but Im not clear on that. Anyway, good job I guess? showing me that a bunch of people on the internet can actually affect things in sales, even when previous acts and other boycotts have failed miserably
