who is rage and what is x factor?
RATM are a rock band =) look em up, and X-factor is Britain's most popular reality TV show, followed by Britain's Got Talent =)

the X-factor winner has had the chrimbo number 1 for about 4-5 years now and everyone got sick of it and decided to boycott it =)

It would be nice if the Christmas No.1 was still about Christmas but still this does amuse me slightly. It's been a tradition for so many years that the x-factor winner gets it even when the song is complete and utter bullshit.

It'd be really nice to have had a Christmas winter holiday song be number one, but it's better than that x factor crap.

Actually screw everyone else this years number one is YES Wombling merry Christmas.

So, he has just admitted to making the X-Factor for the sake of getting Christmas No.1s?
I hate him and his trousers even more now.
don't forget his haircut :)

OT; christmas charts should be about chirstmas songs, but with the current x factor monopoly of the whole thing, I think RATM suited it perfectly. Apart from the Sony BMG thing, but it was about X Factor, not the record label.

You know its kinda pointless, right?
Most radio stations probably wont play it because of the profanity, and will just play Joe Mcwhatshisface's stuff anyway.

Still, it was pretty funny.

*Edit*
Actually, the more I think about it, the less pointless I think it was.
Hooray for RATM, and the free gig :)

tl;dr : Ignore me.

Well a Christmas song should be No.1 and despite the fact that I'm not all that into them I'm glad RATM won rather then another X-Factor winner.

I'm just so glad there'll occasionally be something decent on the radio this Christmas, in the UK.

Fuck yes!

I'm just happy that people decided to go out and buy the record and give a big fat middle finger to Simon Cowell, the X Factor, and all the rest of that shite.

No matter what I think about Rage's overall message, I'm happy for them for winning, and I love their music for what it is :D

I feel a little bad about Joe, but maybe its what he deserves for whoring himself out to purveyors of musical filth such as Cowell and his partners in crime. It's not like X Factor are fucking obliged to win Christmas Number 1 ever god damned year.

Well, I was wrong. This wasn't as pointless as the L4D2 boycott.

You have all proven me wrong. Feel free to rub it in my face.
*Rubs in face...?*

I'm impressed that word of mouth managed this.

Lame.

I like RATM, but that's exactly why I think they shouldn't lower themselves to pathetic stunts like this.

If you're happy RATM won - grow the **** up and get out this country you f**king tool. A song about rebellion by a guy that can't sing, who signed a contract with a multibillion dollar company? Yeah real smart and sticking by his songs.
Not to mention "Let's rebel against conformity by conforming to something else". You people should be shot and used for fertiliser, because clearly you have no brains.
Whereas I see your point, I think it's a little harsh. Although I am happy RATM won, I didn't buy the track again and I don't like the campaign. So, almost what this guy said. Just nicer.
