I am disgusted that things like that even count as news. I mean sure sensationalism and yellow journalism has been going on forever and they are not likely to stop but I still hate it. Heaven forbid logic entered the world of public media services.

The fact that people are still taking these accusations seriously confounds me.
Is it offensive? Yes, but at the same time the only way to defeat politics (which is precisely what this story is about; stirring the shit-pot for political attention) of this nature is to ignore it.

The only response that was necessary was a calm statement of the obvious; no, we aren't rapists, yes your study is unilateral and heavily bias (especially in light of evidence that rape is on the DECLINE, yet you won't see me linking that trend to gamers, because even as a positive it makes no sense) and your statements should be relegated as little more than the political-pseudo-science it is.

What happened to the world?

Im pretty sure people liked eachother once (maybe i played too much minecraft) but why are gamers getting such a bad rap?

The people that never play games choose our laws over them, how do they understand what is needed? anyone ever seen that GTA 4 news clip? (Cue American Newsreader shouting to camera "KILLING HOOKERS WITH DILDOS?!") how many of you actually beat a hooker to death with a dildo?.. ok, thats all of us, but still we arent monsters!

No-one buys Mass Effect and goes out raping women, no, they sit for a moment contemplating the moral choices they made and feeling slightly cheesed off that they didnt have a better ending after that epic boss fight.

Nice poll, but it's unfair against actual rapers, and I take offence to that!!
Great idea for a thread, but we've already been over this. Everybody else sucks, and we're awesome. Of course they're gonna start spreading silly rumors. Just ignore them until they go away and buy the games they complain about just to show them up.

Seriously tho... statutory rape is still rape. I bet a lot of people had a 16 year old girlfriend when they were 18.
