Gaming is a popular pass time that the mainstream media doesn't know how or is too afraid to cover. And so they have no idea how to deal with its fanbase. And when the media is unsure about something, they just start making shit up. Just like with rock 'n roll and comics back in the 50's and 60's.

But who cares? We have our own media that cover games just fine and treats it with the respect it deserves.

There really needs to be a sub-forum entitled, "I put on my Robe and Wizard's Hat".

You know, for the...explicit role-playing.

<_<
Then I could finally ask you how big your "Tetrad" is.

You know, a good chunk of gaming media is rather immature and treats the medium itself as such.

Although perhaps that's what you meant....

On that topic, I don't want the media to start covering games; I don't need a CoD review in the New Yorker or serious critiques of the plot of HALO. I just want them to lay off the media. Stop with the various lines about us all being serial killing mouth breathers who live in our mom's basements. I live in the attic, dammit!

Basically, I want the general news media to simply be mature enough to deal with us in an honest and above-board fashion or not at all. Having your own mags doesn't countermand the damage of constant bombardment in the mainstream press.

Wait...wat.

* Tetrad (chromosomal formation), a chromosomal formation in meiosis
* Tetrad (general relativity), a mathematical frame of reference in general relativity
* Tetrad (genetics), the four spores of a yeast
* Tetrad (Greek philosophy), the first number formed by the addition and multiplication of equals
* Tetrad (index notation), a concept in differential geometry
* Tetrad (music), a set of four notes
* Tetrad (unit of area), an area 2km x 2km square
* Tetrad of media effects, a pedagogical tool

What is this...I don't even...

I know a lot of the gaming media is immature, but atleast it's passionate about games.

Can you amagine mainstream journalism cover games? I've seen examples of it and I can tell you it's not a pretty sight.

Sadly, logic has no place in the world of news media, because presenting factually based arguments about a controversial topic makes less money than fear-mongering and rabble-rousing. The truly sad part is that some of us are no longer enraged by baseless accusations or assumptions of our character based on a hobby we indulge in, we meekly accept it as an irritating display of ignorance.
When will we see a book that describes how collecting stamps turns people into trophy collecting serial killers? Or a news report about how reading books turns children into car thieves?

What if I am a rapist? See, I just raped your girlfriend while you weren't looking. But she'll never tell you, because girl-on-girl rape is never taken seriously.

Oh god, I have so many femenazi friends who would rape me for that joke.

In all honesty, though, I play games in which your character lives in a strip club, blows up buildings, runs people over with stolen cars, and generally just makes nazi occupation seem like a holiday compared to being in the same city as this guy. The worst crime I ever committed was the other day when I didn't pay for my bus ticket.

Before the use of "Tetronominoes," or however it's spelled, Tetris pieces were frequently referred to in literature as "Tetrads."

Ah, I see! Wait...wouldn't the size of my Tetrad be a basic unit of measurement?

Wait a minute! If you insert your L-piece into my L-space, will that make my pelvic area blink, then disappear?!

I think it depends on how fully stacked your play field is.

I cant find the "yes" option, I dunno bout you, but, playing Bulletstorm makes me want to get ta rapin, lol just kidding.

Its because when someone does something bad, people like news reporters or legal dudes want something to blame for the bad behavior besides the lack of parenting, and that my friend is games. Other than that, in Fox News' case (its not like Fox is the only one that does it though) they do it for ratings and publicity.

A poll with only one option?

What about the rest of us?
Indeed. If you ask my girlfriend whether or not I'm a rapist, she'd probably jokingly answer that I am... so I don't think I can vote on this poll.
