I think he has had a rough start, but its been getting better. The latest one on being too cool was good, i enjoyed it.

Personally, i think what he should change are the scenes where its him standing on the podium talking to the screen. I know that these sections are supposed to be the "inquisition" bit, but they don't fit well. I think they need to be more stylised. I dont mind Jim talking to us himself, but there needs to be some... effect, i dont know, to make those scenes a bit more engaging.

Saying you want the show to say is fine
Saying you want the show to go is fine

Saying you want the show to go, and that people should not be allowed to say it should stay is not fine

I think I've made my point.
I want the show to stay, but I am not going to demand it.
I'm sorry I think we have gotten of on the wrong foot as I am currently agreeing with you.
It is only the severity(Again the highlight command) of the demanding it to be removed which I have an issue with.

He's alright when he's actually making a point.

But then he goes all caustic and tries to be funny and it all falls to bits.

So no, not really.

I see a lot of people complaining and asking The Escapist to stop displaying his stuff. What I don't understand is why people care if he is on the Escapist or why they keep watching his videos? Stop watching and let him be, then you have nothing to worry about.

I personally like his stuff. He has a fresh perspective on things and can be ironic or subtle at the right moments. Maybe sometimes he is too subtle with the things he does and people miscontrue his meaning or intentions.

If it comes to the point where The Escapist are considering taking him off their lineup, then I hope they at least give him the chance to improve or tweak his show a little. I've not actually read any complaints about his writing, so it must just be something about the videos people don't like.

Just because it is withing peoples right, doesn't mean it is polite, constructive or even adds to the escapist community.
They can go rage at /B.

He tries to copy the Colbert Report's style of reverse psychology humour, but fails to meet the mark of funny.

I know. I just really hate it when people say "Don't like, don't watch", and I enjoy picking that argument appart, because the same points are brought up again and again.

And if peopel really hate the show, the rage caused is more likely to make it stay, don't you think?

EDIT:

"Don't like, don't watch" Does work in some context such this situation BUT only due to the severity of the hate threads. If the forum situation was less severer then the "Don't like, don't watch" would be invalid as we both agree.

"the rage caused is more likely to make it stay" defiantly :D Which is a large bonus, on the other hand however it does damage the forum massively with these flame threads :(

He raises good points, but the way he raises them leaves a lot to be desired. His whole "Look at me I'm so clever with my sarcasm" act isn't funny, and smothers the otherwise good topic he is discussing.

I think he realized his arrogant prick act and YouTube quality wasn't getting him much love from the site, and he has certainly tried to improve. That said, to quote Jay Sherman... It Stinks! He has a home at Destructoid already, he just isn't a fit here.

On another note, if people that don't want the show to be on The Escapist should just ignore it, than I'm sure everyone else will be expected to ignore threads that are critical of the show. Just sayin'.

I enjoy it, i think once you look past the humor you can find some interesting views and points on gaming.
i'm sorry, is there humour in the jimquisition? guess i get full marks for looking past it. but i can't stand him. some of his views are good for a lengthy reacquainting of my forehead with my desk, but mostly he's annoying. there's enough juvenile bullshit related to gaming on the internet, in my opinion.

also, before people start jumping on me about how i just don't understand him, or didn't give him a fair shot, let me say that i watched his show for the first three weeks and i certainly did understand everything i was hearing (as much as one can understand that when you've been hit in the face with feces, it's because there is a monkey in the vicinity). i just can't figure out how this moron got onto the escapist in the first place. i know we're trying to shake the reputation of being elitist twats, but running as far and fast as possible in the other direction isn't a solution.

My opinion that he is a massive nobhead will most likely never change, but I watch every now and again just in case. The accent is fake though, I tell you.

Regardless, this is the fifth or sixth thread I've seen about him so... yeah.
Off the top of my head, I seem to recall him using the same accent when he was out of character on some video on Destructoid. So if it's actually fake, he's at least consistent about using it. :p

Why do we need him? We already have Yahtzee to be brutaly honest about games in a humorous manner... To top that off, I don't even find him funny, nor do the points he illustrate make much sense or add much value to the topic.

Yeah, in short, I don't like him.

I would have stopped after the second episode - which was absolutely terrible; but then I found one of his youtube videos where he actually made a lot of sense. So, I gave it another chance, and it started to get better. The last episode actually wasn't all that bad.

It's not nearly as good as anything from the LRR crew; but then again, it's a lot better than Pro-Gamer Gauntlet - which is, by far, the worst thing I've ever watched.

I hated the first episode of it. I couldn't bear to watch it at all. I got really annoyed at everything he said. The second episode was better, but still very bad. The third episode was pretty good. I'm actually starting to like it and hope that it will still continue to run. I need something when I can't get my fix of Lisa's top five and I've already watched Extra Credits, ZP and Unskippable.
I also like how he's clearly being ironic and saying it himself that he's an ass before slipping into the role of being self obsessed.

He's making decent points in a manner some people find funny.

He's not forcing anyone to watch his show so he's not doing anyone any harm. He has enough material online that you can spend about twenty minutes to find out if you like him or not.

I listen to his points and not so much his humour and just accept thats his way of getting things across. He's enjoyable to listen to.

I don't find him very funny, he portrays himself as an obnoxious ass and talks about how awesome he is then says that he's joking? I don't really get it. The parts I enjoy are the voice over parts where he talks normally and presents a good arguement but when he's on screen again it's like AAgghhhhh. go away!
