BS. When they're writing new stories they're free to introduce new characters. And *gasp* the new characters don't have to all be white. It's not a retcon, it's a new character. It's canonical.
That's what I already said. If they're making new characters, fine. Make them whatever race you want. I don't care if they make them all black, hispanic, asian, whatever; as long as they don't decide half-way through that they actually want them to be white now.
Be less paranoid about the big bad minorities having characters first maybe?
Figures it's impossible to make any comment about race without being branded a racist. Let your guard down, you're not a righteous guardian of equal rights. All races are equal, but pretending that there's nothing different between them is stupid.
No, I didn't. You seem to be reading the post you wish I made instead of the one I made. I pointed out that you're wrong, it is canonical. And this is a new character. Yes, he's taking Spider-Man's place, no he is still a new character. Plus I wasn't saying anything they did might be wrong so I'm clearly not making the same point as you.
What
I was saying is: why don't they just make a new hero altogether? Do they have to continue a character's storyline after they're dead? Spiderman is Peter Parker. Just like Superman is Clark Kent. If you're going to take away a hero's identity, you might as well scrap the costume, too.
Lolno. That sounds absolutely absurd. Do point out where Nick Fury got destroyed. I mean the whole paranoia of that citing absurd consequences kinda hints at the racism underneath this.
Plus it isn't even the same character. He's becoming Spider-Man, but he's a new character.
I'm pretty sure I already covered everything here. Races are equal but different, hero's identity, yadda-yadda.
Yes, because you have a paranoia about minorities appearing in media apparently. There's no good reason to assume they did it just to shove a minority in. That's a ridiculous assumption.
Oh yeah that's exactly what I was saying... Racism is
always the answer, right? No.
No, it wouldn't be ridiculous there either if the previous guy filling that role had died. THEY'RE CHANGING HIS IDENTITY ANYWAY. Sure, you can say that's your point. The absurdity of it makes me wonder if it's something else.
That is my point, as I've already said. You might also want to consult a thesaurus.
"Absurd" isn't the only adjective in the language.
